Objective:Detect the expression of calcium-binding S100A13 in pancreatic carcinoma(PC)and paracancerous tissues and the relationship with the clinicopathological parameter.Investigate the relationship between prognosis and S100A13 protein.Explore the relationship between S100A13 and some results of immunohistochemistry of pancreatic carcinoma. Methods:The specimens was collected from Zhongda hospital Affiliated to Southeast University between 1-7-2013 and 1-8-2016.All 36 patients had complete clinical date.Immunohistochemistry method was used to check the expression of S100A13 in 32 surgical specimens of pancreatic carcinoma and 4 surgical intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms(IPMNs)and their paracancerous tissues. We analysed the relationship between S100A13 and the clinicopathological parameters.Whether S100A13 influenced the prognosis of patients was analysed. We also extracted the result of Immunohistochemistry of PC,including Her2,COX2,VEGF,EGFR,D2-40,S100 and CD34.We analysed the relationship between these parameters and S100A13.Results S100A13 expressed in cytoplasm and cytoblast. The expression rate of S100A13 in PC and precancerous tissue was 97%(31/32)and 72%(23/32),respectively.The expression of S100A13 was difference between cancer and paracancerous tissues(P=0.000).There was no correlation between S100A13 and sex, age, lymph node metastasis, tumor location,TNM stages, grade of differentiation(P>0.05).One year survival rate in negative group and positive was 17.2%and 39.4%,respectively.Three year survival rate in negative group and positive was 0 and 6.5%,respectively.The median survival time was 8 months in both group. There was a siginificantly positive correlation between the expression of S100A13 and COX2,VEGF,EGFR.Conclusion The expression of S100A13 protein is positive in PC.The expression of S100A13 did not correlate with the prognosis of PC.S100A13,COX2,VEG and EGFR may be component part of the microenvironment of PC which support or promote the aggressiveness of PC.
