ObjectiveTo describe the current situation of health promoting lifestyle,self-management ability,self-efficacy and hope among the young and mid-aged patients with coronary heart disease who undergoing PCI.To explore the effectiveness of empowerment education on improving health promoting lifestyle,self-management ability,self-efficacy,hope and physiological indicators.MethodFollowing the randomized controlled trial design,96 young and mid-aged patients who undergoing PCI were selected and were randomly divided into control group and intervention group.Control group received regular health education, meanwhile intervention group received regular health education and empowerment education. Both groups were followed up for 6 months. After patients discharged from hospital for 1 month,3 months,6 months, collected their present information by using coronary artery disease self-management scale, health promotion lifestyle profile-II,self efficacy for managing chronic disease 6 item scale and Herth hope index.Compare the differences of changes between and within control group and intervention group.Using SPSS19.0 statistical software to analysis.t test and chi-square test were used to compare baseline data. Two way repeated measure ANOVA and Multivariate analysis of variance were used to compare the change trends of different groups. One way repeated measure ANOVA was used to compare the difference within group.t test was used to compare the difference at different times between and within groups. Results 1.Health promoting lifestyleAfter intervention, the scores of health promoting lifestyle between two groups were statistically significant in time effect, group effect and interaction effect(P< 0.001).After 1 month,3 month,6 month discharge, difference of health promoting lifestyle between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.001).Compared with basic line, the improvement on discharge 1,3,6 months in intervention group was statistically significant(P<0.001).2.Self-management abilityAfter intervention, the ability of self-management between two groups were statistically significant in time effect, group effect and interaction effect(P<0.001).After 1 month,3 month,6 month discharge, difference of self-management ability between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.001).Compared with basic line, the improvement on discharge 1,3,6 months in intervention group was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Self-efficacyAfter intervention, the scores of self-efficacy between two groups were statistically significant in time effect, group effect and interaction effect(P<0.05).After 3 month and 6 month discharge, difference of self-efficacy between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.001).Compared with basic line, the improvement on discharge 1,3,6 months in intervention group was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.HopeThe scores of hope between two groups were statistically significant in time effect(P<0.001).After 3 month,6 month discharge, difference of hope between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with basic line, the improvement on discharge 3 and 6 months in intervention group was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.The physiological indicatorsAfter intervention, the physiological indicator, such as BMI,diastolic blood pressure,TG,HDL-C value between two groups were statistically significant in time effect(P<0.001).Besides that, abdominal circumference, systolic blood pressure,TC,LDL-C value between two groups were statistically significant in time effect, group effect and interaction effect(P<0.05).After 1 month,3 month,6 month discharge, difference of systolic blood pressure between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 3 month and 6 month discharge, difference of BMI,diastolic blood pressure,TG,HDL-C,TC,LDL-C value between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 6 month discharge, difference of abdominal circumference between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionEmpowerment education can improve the health promotion lifestyle, self management ability,self-efficacy,hope and physiological indicators of young and middle-aged patients who undergoing PCI.Empowerment education can be applied for clinic trail.
