ObjectiveTo investigate the level of self-care agency and CHD-related knowledge of the young and middle-aged patients with percutaneous coronary intervention;to evaluate the effects of a problem-based learning health education on the self-care agency, and CHD-related knowledge of young and middle-aged PCI patients. In order to improve the clinical effect of health education and provide the theoretical basis for diversified forms, but also promote the treatment of young and middle-aged PCI patients with cardiac rehabilitation. MethodsThis study used the types of experimental research method. One hundred and sixty young and middle-aged patients after first time PCI were Selected in henan Hospital form October 2014 to October 2015.The research objects were assigned to two groups based on the number of PCI order,80 cases in each group. The patients in the experimental group received problem-based learning health education;the patients in the control group received cardiology health education. All patients were investigated with the Exercise of Self-Care Agency Scale(ESCA)and Coronary heart disease knowledge questionnaire on the first day of PCI and after intervention to analyze the effect.EpiData 3.1was used to establish the database and Descriptive analysis,chi-squared test,two-sample t-test,Paired t-test analysis were performed to analyze the data using SPSS17.0 with P < 0.05 for the difference which was statistically significant. Results(1)Baseline results show that the mean scores of self-care agency form one hundred and forty-eight PCI patients were(71.14±18.85)and Scoring index was 41.36%, Generally in the-middle level. The self-concept was the highest score(13.94±7.00)and Scoring index was 60.61%.The self-care skills was the lowest score(13.94±7.00)and Scoring index was was31.68%.The scores of Coronary heart disease knowledge were(23.60±8.76)and Scoring index was 45.38%, Generally in the medium level. The secondary prevention knowledge was the highest score(7.29±2.29)and Scoring index was 66.27%.The medication knowledge was the lowest score(2.98±5.45)and Scoring index was was29.80%.(2)The control group and experimental group patients had no statistically significant difference in the general data, such as the gender, age, marriage and the disease data by the chi-square test. Two groups of patients were balance(P > 0.05).(3)The analysis within group:After the intervention, the score of self-care agency and coronary heart disease knowledge significantly increased in the experimental group(P<0.05).After the intervention, the score of self-care agency and coronary heart disease knowledge significantly increased in the control group(P<0.05).(4)The analysis between groups:Before intervention there were no significant difference was found in each ESCA,and Coronary heart disease knowledge questionnaire between the experimental group and the control group(P>0.05).After the intervention, patients in the experimental group had significantly higher score for self-care agency and coronary heart disease knowledge except concept of coronary heart disease and checking method(P<0.05).Conclusions1.The self-care agency and coronary heart disease knowledge among young and middle-aged PCI patients are at the medium level, especially the self-care skills and medication knowledge.2.A problem-based learning health education can improve the self-care agency and coronary heart disease knowledge.
