Value Of IL-10 And IFN-gamma To Zhe Early Diagnosis In Children's Severe Hand Foot And Mouth Disease

Objective To test the expression of serum IL-10 and IFN-? in children with HFMD and evaluate the value on the early diagnosis of Severe HFMD.Methods According to the diagnostic criteria of HFMD(2013 version),30 cases with Severe HFMD(Severe group)and 30 cases with Common HFMD(Common group)each were prospectively identified by two senior specialists.The expression of serum IL-10,IFN-?,procalcitonin(PCT)and C-reaction protein(CRP)were measured by the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay,high sensitive dry chemical particle enhanced immune hematocrit correction rate method and chemiluminescence immunoassay,and pathogenic detection(EV71 or C0xA16)was also conducted.The clinical characteristics of HFMD were summarized and the expression level of the above-mentioned factors was compared between the two groups.Results The level of serum IL-10 in Severe and Common groups was 23.05�0.74 and 21.29�0.66,respectively(P<0.05);while the level of serum IFN-? of the two groups was 40.65�8.17 and 40.02�6.83,respectively(P>0.05).The level of IL-10 in positive and negative groups with pathogenic detection was 22.70�0.89 and 21.02�0.55,respectively(P<0.05);while the level of IFN-? of the two groups was 40.23�7.55 and 40.55�7.52,respectively(P>0.05).There were 23 cases and 15 cases each with positive detection of CRP in Severe and Common groups(P<0.05),and 24 cases and 15 cases each with positive PCT in the two groups(P<0.05).The level of IL-10 in Severe group was 23.05�0.73 at admission and 18.75�1.22 at discharge(P<0.05);while the level of IFN-? was 40.65�8.17 and 40.02�6.83,respectively(P>0.05).Conclusions The level of serum IL-10 in children with Severe HFMD is significantly higher at early and acute stage than in the recovery period,especially for the cases with positive detection of pathogens(EV71 or C0xA16);while the level of serum IL-10 does not rise remarkably.Serum IL-10 is valuable in the early diagnosis of Severe HFMD in children.
