E-cadherin in the colorectal cancer tissues. To explore the relationship between the expression of OCT1?E-cadherin in the colorectal cancer tissues and the clinicopathologic features and prognosis. Methods:The expression of OCT1 and E-cadherin were detected by immunohistochemistry technique in 117 cases of colorectal carcinoma and117 cases of adjacent normal colorectal mucosa. The relationship between the expression of OCT1 and E-cadherin and the clinicopathologic features were analyzed by SPSS software.Combined with the patient's follow-up materials, the expression of OCT1 and E-cadherin effecting on colorectal cancer survival rates and prognosis was analysised by Kaplan-Meier method. The independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of patients with colorectal cancer were analysised by Cox proportional hazard regression model.Results:1.The expression of OCT1 in the colorectal cancer The possitive expression percentage of OCT1 54.70%(64/117 cases)in colorectal cancer was significantly higher than those in adjacent normal colorectal mucosa 0.05%(6/117 cases),(P<0.05).The expression rate of OCT1 in the high, medium and low differentiation of colorectal cancer tissues was 46.15%(12/26 cases),54.12%(46/85)and 100%(6/6cases),P < 0.05).The expression rate of OCT1 in the T1+T2 group and the T3+T4 group of colorectal cancer tissues was 10.53%(2/19 cases)and 63.27%(62/98 cases),P < 0.05).The expression rate of OCT1 in the group with lymph node metastasis and without lymph node metastasis of colorectal cancer tissue was 71.43%(45/63 cases)and 35.19%(19/54cases),P < 0.05.The expression rate of OCT1 in the group with distant metastasis and without distant metastasis group of colorectal cancer tissue was was 75.00%(15/20 cases)and 50.52%(49/97 cases),P < 0.05).The expression rate of OCT1 in the group of I+II stage and III+IV stage of colorectal cancer tissues was was 38.78%(19/49 cases)and 66.18%(45/68 cases),P < 0.05).2.The expression of E-cadherin in the colorectal cancer The abnormal expression rate of E-cadherin 57.26%(67/117 cases)in colorectal cancer was significantly higher than those in adjacent normal colorectal mucosa 0.04%(5/117 cases),(P<0.05).The abnormal expression rate of E-cadherin in the high, medium and low differentiation of colorectal cancer tissues was 19.23%(5/26 cases),65.88%(56/85)and 100%(6/6 cases),P < 0.05).The abnormal expression rate of E-cadherin in the T1+T2 group and the T3+T4 group of colorectal cancer tissues was 26.32%(5/19 cases)and 63.27%(62/98 cases),P <0.05).The abnormal expression rate of E-cadherin in the group with lymph node metastasis and without lymph node metastasis of colorectal cancer tissue was 73.02%(46/63 cases)and 38.89%(21/54 cases),P <0.05).The abnormal expression rate of E-cadherin in the group of I+II stage and III+IV stage of colorectal cancer tissues was 40.82%(20/49cases)and 69.12%(47/68 cases),P < 0.05).3.Correlation between the expression of OCT1 and E-cadherin In this group of cases, the abnormal expression rate of E-cadherin in the colorectal cancer tissues with OCT1 possitive expression was73.43%(47/64 cases),which was significantly higher than the the abnormal expression rate of E-cadherin in the colorectal cancer tissues with OCT1 negative expression 37.74%(20/53 cases),r = 0.359,both difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).4.Correlation between expression of OCT1?E-cadherin and prognosis Kaplan Meier-analysis showed the group with OCT1 positive expression had a shorter 5-year survival rate than the group with OCT1 negative expression. The 5 years of survival rate of patients with OCT1 positive expression was 32.80%,and the 5 years of survival rate of patients with OCT1 negative expression was 77.40%.The two groups of patients survival rate had significant difference(P = 0.000).The group with E-cadherin abnormal expression had a shorter 5-year survival rate than the group with E-cadherin normal expression. The 5 years of survival rate of patients with with E-cadherin abnormal expression was41.80%,and the 5 years of survival rate of patients with with E-cadherin normal expression was 68.00%.The two groups of patients survival rate had significant difference(P = 0.007).Cox proportional hazard regression model analysis showed that the OCT1 was an independent factor of colorectal cancer,(P = 0.025,the risk ratio(HR)= 2.253,95%confidence interval(CI)1.108 to 4.583).Conclusion:In the colorectal cancer tissues,OCT1 presenting high expression, but E-cadherin presenting abnormal expression. The expression of OCT1 and E-cadherin was related to the progress of colorectal cancer. The possitive expression of OCT1 and the abnormal expression of E-cadherin was related to the poor prognosis of the patients with colorectal cancer.OCT1 can be used as an independent prognostic factor in patients with colorectal cancer. | Keywords/Search Tags: | OCT1, E-cadherin, Colorectal,
