The Association Between MicroRNA21 Expression And Clinicopathological Characteristics Of Breast Cancer: A Meta-Analysis

Objective:Using the Meta-analysis for the correlation between MicroRNA21 and Clinicopathological Characteristics of Breast Cancer,to offer a new sight fir the diagnosis and treatment for the breast cancer.Methods:We search PubMed,EMBASE,CENTRAL,CNKI,Wanfang and VIP databases,supplemented by literature review method for relevant literatures published in China and abroad about the the correlation between high expression of microRNA21 and the clinicopathological characteristics of breast cancer.A unified information table was used for extract data.The period rages from the building data of database to October 31,2016.Review Manager 5.3 software was applied for data analysis.Odds ratios(odds ratio,OR),95% confidence interval OR(confidence interval CI)for the data,Forest map was drawn according to result.funnel plot was used for valuating the publication bias,appropriate model was selected to analyze the data with Meta-analysis.With the p = 0.05 as the level of test.p <0.05 was considered statisticallysignificant.Results:A total 10 studies was included in the meta-analysis,including 1270 eligible breast cancer patients.The result as follows: menstrual status(menopause):(OR=1.66 95%CI,0.93-2.93,P=0.08);tumor size(>2cm):(OR=1.57,95%CI 0.81-3.02,P = 0.18);histological grade(GII,GIII level vs GI):(OR=3.59,95%CI 1.92-6.74,P < 0.0001);histological grade(GIII vs GII GI):(OR=2.08,95%CI1.15-3.76,P=0.01<0.05),lymph node metastasis:(OR=2.45,95%CI 1.92-3.13,P < 0.0001);TNM stage:(OR=2.46,95%CI 1.67-3.62,P < 0.0001);human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(Her-2):(OR=1.95,95%CI 1.47-2.58,P < 0.0001);ER:(OR=0.99,95%CI0.56-2.90,P=0.08);PR:(OR=1.12,95%CI0.54-2.32,P=0.75).Conclusion:1.The high expression of miR21 in breast cancer patients was correlated with histological grade,lymph node metastasis,TNM stage,Her2 positive expression,and there was no correlation with the menstrual status,tumor size,ER expression and PR expression.2.The high expression of miR21 can be used as a marker for breast cancer screening and preoperative examination,having great potential for the prognosis of breast cancer and formulating the reasonable individualized treatment.
