Severe Acute Pancreatitis(SAP)is one of the most common clinical emergency and critical diseases,At present,it is generally believed that the high energy consumption,high metabolism,and the apparent negative nitrogen balance lead to malnutrition,which is very disadvantaged to the recovery of SAP patients.Therefore,nutrition support becomes one of the most important treatments of SAP,and has significant influence on the outcome of SAP.Studies have confirmed that Enteral Nutrition(EN)can reduce the mortality,and incidence of infectious complication and organ failure of SAP patients when compared to Total Parenteral Nutrition(TPN).Oral feeding belonging to EN can not only alleviate the pain of patients,reduce the complications from operations,but protect the pancreas as well,it has good application prospect and practical value in clinical.This article reviews the safety and effectiveness of eternal nutrition by early oral feeding in the treatment of SAP.
