Assesment Of Clinical Effect Of Transurethral Fenestration In Children With Ureterocele

Objective: To appraise the clinical effect of transurethral fenestration operation of Ureterocele.Methods: 42 patients diagnosed with ureterocele through our department and treated with transurethral endoscopic fenestration operation between 2002.2 and 2015.6 were successfully followed up.Patients were divided into Single System Ureterocele(SSU)and Duplex System Ureterocele(DSU)groups,and intravesical and extravesical groups for analaysis.Collected information including gender,age at operation,ureterocele location,preoperation and postoperation hydronephrosis status,Vesicoureteral reflux(VUR)and second operation rate,by using B ultrasound,Intravenous pyelogram(IVP),Voiding cystourethrogram(VCUG)examinations.Assessed the clinical effect of transurethral fenestration operation through comparing information such as hydronephrosis status,VUR,curative rate(hydronephrosis improvement and no VUR)and second operation rate.Result: There were significant differences in such aspects in age(53m vs.26 m,Z= 2.2380,P=0.0252),sex ratio(13:6 vs.7:16,?2=6.0191,0.0142),location(?2(cmh)= 8.5401,P=0.0140),VUR(15% vs.62%,P=0.0414),Curative rate(77% vs.38%,P=0.0472),second operation rate(0 vs.30%,?2=4.9208,P=0.0265)between SSU and DSU group.There were also significant difference in age between intravesical and extravesical groups(37m vs.9m,Z=-2.6188,P=0.0088),but no differences in sex ratio(6:8 vs.1:8,0.1760),location(P=0.6802),hydronephrosis improvement(75% vs.100%,Z=0.1930,P=0.8470),curative rate(25% vs.40%,P=1.0000)and second operation rate(36% vs.22%,P=0.6570).Conclusion: Endoscopic fenestration of ureterocele could be used as an effective treatment of SSU.Endoscopic fenestration can effectively relieve symptoms of urinary tract obstruction for DSU patients.However a few patients can receive a definitive therapy.
