Objective Review analysis to compare the clinical effects between laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery with open appendectomy for the treatment of pediatric perforated appendicitis, and provide clinical basis for pediatric perforated appendicitis operation selection. Methods In the study,we reviewed the medical records of 288 cases which were diagnosed as pediatric perforated appendicitis and received surgery during the period May 2014-March 2016 from General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University. They were divided into two groups according to different operation.Among them, there were 162 cases of open appendectomy and 126 cases of laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery. We compared the items including: gender,age,nationality,pre-hospital time, preoperative body temperature, white blood cell counts, neutrophil granulocyte percentage, operative time, postoperative flatus time, period of antibiotic use, hospital stay, hospital costs, catheter drainage rate, wound infection rate, abdominal abscess rate and adhesive intestinal obstruction rate. The data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 software.Results1.The gender,age,nationality,pre-hospital time, preoperative body temperature, white blood cell counts, neutrophil granulocyte percentage, operative time, abdominal abscess rate, adhesive intestinal obstruction rate have no statistical significance between the two groups(P>0.05).2.The differences of two groups' postoperative flatus time(38.81±16.80 h,29.89±13.43h)? period of antibiotic use(8.59±2.26 d,6.43±1.80d)? hospital stay(9.59±4.38 d,6.61±2.10d)?hospital costs(14961.39±3336.92 yuan,16508.51±2367.90 yuan)?catheter drainage rate(72.22%,29.37%)and wound infection rate(12.96%,0.79%)were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with open appendectomy, the laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery in the treatment of pediatric perforated appendicitis has its advantages, including shorter postoperative flatus time, shorter antibiotic use time, shorter hospital stay time and few wound infection rate. But It increased hospital costs.
