Objective To understand health conditions and health service situation of childbearing-age women in five counties in Ningxia.Influencing factors of the health service utilization were discussed.Methods The questionnaire survey were conducted among the rural childbearing-age women by multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling method.The multi-level model was used to analyze the influencing factors of health care service utilization.Results1.A total of 7154 rural childbearing-age women were investigated,including 44.3% Han and 55.2% Hui people.The proportion of the subjects whose education was below primary school culture was 53.1.70.9% and 56.8% subjects married and were farmer,respectively.2.The proportion of the two-week prevalence rate and chronic diseases were 9.8 and 10.1,respectively.3.The difference of the two-week and chronic diseases prevalence rates has the statistically significant in age,nationality,marital status,cultural degree and occupation(all P<0.05).The two-week and chronic disease prevalence rates both increased with age,while decreased with the cultural degree.The women who were farmer has higher prevalence rate of two-week and chronic disease than others,and the rates were higher among Hui people than Han people.4.The top five diseases in two-weeks of rural childbearing-age women were acute nasopharyngitis(common cold),influenza,the female reproductive organ disease,intervertebral disc disease and upper respiratory tract infection,respectively.The top five chronic diseases were hypertension,female reproductive organs disease,intervertebral disc disease,acute or chronic gastroenteritis,and upper respiratory tract infection,respectively.5.The rate of two-week consultation and two-week of illness for rural childbearing-age women was 4.6% and 47.0%,respectively.County-level medical institutions were primarily responsible for the patients during two-weeks.The proportion of year hospitalization rate was 6.9%,and hospitalization rate was 8.3%.Overall,the reproductive organs disease ranked the first in all the hospital disease.6.The rate of gynecological examination and prenatal care for rural childbearing-age women was 14.8% and 93.1%,respectively.The gynecological examinations were mainly carried out by the county-level or above hospitals and health clinics in towns and townships.The rate of hospital delivering was 93.1%,most people choose in county-level hospital to delivery,and one of the potential reason for delivery at home was emergency birth.7.The influence factors of health service utilization for rural childbearing-age women were age,marital status,cultural level,occupation,health self-assessment,the distance of the medical institutions and economic status,respectively.ConclusionsThe health status of rural childbearing-age women in five counties of Ningxia has been developed.The utilization of health service still needed to be improved due to the low levels of the education,serious genital diseases as well as different demands for health.The utilization of health services were affected by the age,marital status,educational level,occupation,health self-assessment,the distance of the medical institutions and economic status.
