Background:Androgenetic alopecia(AGA)is a hair disease caused by androgen hormone and genetics.The factors influencing hair loss have not been clear.Treatments on it have not been satisfactory,so we conduct this research.Objective:To analyze cause and treatment of AGA and to assess its efficacy.Methods:A between group design experiment and observational study was conducted.Approximately 330 patients were divided into three groups and evaluated for 6 months.Each group was treated using different combinations of drugs.We also conducted laboratory examinations to ensure that the patients really suffered from AGA.Finally,we analysed the significance level using chi-square and t-test.Results:Patients sought the treatment mostly in August and September.There were more male than female patients.Most of them were young.Patients came 1-5 years after they had got hair loss.There were more white-collar workers than blue-collar workers.For both sexes,Combination of 3 drugs is more effective than each single remedy(p<0.05).Isotretinoin is also useful for the oil control for both sexes(p < 0.05).Conclusion:AGA is a hair disease which affects both sexes after puberty.It is caused by androgen hormone and genetics.It causes psychological disturbance.AGA is influenced by external and internal factors.A combination of drugs was better.
