Laparoscopic Suture Of Hernia Ring Combining Intraperitoneal Onlay Biologics Mesh In Treatment Of Young Man Indirect Inguinal Hernia,a Short-term Results

Objections To assess the results of laparoscopic suture of hernia ring combining intraperitoneal onlay biologic mesh in treatment of young man indirect inguinal hernia.Methods 8 indirect hernias in 7 patients underwent laparoscopic herniotomy with suture of hernia ring combining the IPOM technique implanting biologics mesh between January 2014 and January 2016,in The Second Affiliated Hospital Of Chongqing Medical University.Medical records were reviewed.And the outcomes of postoperative pain,postoperative complications,recurrence and fertility,were analyzed.Results Mean operative time was 34 minutes.8 hernias in 7 patients were all indirect.No case was transferred to any other operation method.Average inner ring diameter is 2.7cm.Mean hospital stay was 3 days;mean recovery time for working and general physical activities was five days.Their postoperative pain was slight.One case who appeared mild scrotal edema,no other complications occurred and all patients were follow upfor 2~24 months,There was no recurrence.Conclusions In conclusion,the technique is safe to the fertility ability and effective to repair inguinal hernia in young males who have very care about the fertility ability safety.However,a longer-term follow-up should be done to verify these preliminary results.
