Efficacy Of Photodynamic Therapy In The Treatment Of Moderate To Severe Acne:a Mata Analysis

Background: Acne is one of the dermatological department common disease and is a kind of involvement of pilosebaceous chronic inflammatory disease.Moderate to severe acne occurs in adolescents,some can persist into adulthood.Because it ofen leave pigmentation and pitting or hypertrophic scar,when happen to face ofen cause different degrees of psychological burden,even suicidal depression.Because of the resistance for conventional therapy,the effect is not very obvious and break out repeatedly.In recent years,photodynamic therapy(PDT)has increasingly been used as efficient and safe therapeutic option of acne vulgaris,but it still requires confirmation in further studies.Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of photodynamic therapy in the treatment of moderate to severe acne.Methods:We made a retrieval in Pubmed,EMBase,The Cochrane Library,CNKI,VIP,Wanfang for the randomized controlled trials(RCT)about PDT for moderate to severe acne according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria from inception to february 2017.Two independent reviewers readed and screened literature,extracted data and assessed the risk of bias of included studies.RveMan 5.3 software was used to perform meta-analysis.Disscusion or the third person when both sides was not at the same time.Results:According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,we included 23 pieces of literature and 1515 patients.The results of Meta-analysis showed that:Compared with red light,red-blue light and intense pulsed light(IPL)alone,PDT increased the efficacy,and decreased the recurrence rate.To the effective and cure rate,there was no statistically difference between photodynamic therapy and oral Isotretinoin.No serious systemic adverse were reported except for burning sensation,pricking,erythema,most patients can endure and after symptomatic treatment can alleviate.Conclusion: Photodynamic therapy have rapid onset,high effective and cure rate,low recurrence rate,and have no serious adverse reaction.Due to the quality of the included studies,more high-quality studies are needed to comfirmed the conclusion.
