Objecive: To evaluate the value of the fecal calprotectin in the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease systematically. Methods: Two researchers searched the Wanfang digital journals database?CNKI?Pub Med?Embase for the studies which evaluated the fecal calprotectin in the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)independently. Then we used the QUADAS-2 tool to assess the quality of each trial and the meta-disc 1.40 statistical software to calculate the pooled sensitivity?pooled specificity and their 95% confidence intervals(95%CI)? the summary receiver operating characteristic curve(SROC)?area under curve(AUC)and the Q* value. We also used the Stata 14 software to assess the publication bias. Results: A total of 13 studies including 1385 cases,in which 721 cases were inflammatory bowel disease patients and 664 cases were controls were enrolled in the meta-analysis finally. The pooled sensitivity and specificity were 0.86(95%CI=0.84-0.88)and 0.76(95%CI=0.74-0.79)respectively.The AUC of SROC was 0.9169,and the Q* value was 0.8498.Conclusion: Fecal calprotectin is a good noninvasive marker with high sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease. It can be used to help diagnosing in inflammatory bowel disease.
