Objective:1.To systematically evaluate the association between dehydroepiandrosterone-sulfate(DHEA-S)and chronic urticaria(CU);2.To systematically evaluate the association between prolactin(PRL)and chronic urticaria.Methods:1.Useing the strategy of subject headings combined with free terms,we systematically searched the follow databases: including three english databsses,Pub Med,Embase,Cochrance Library(Issue 3,2015);four chinses databsses,CNKI ? VIP ? CBM and Wan Fang data,to elicit case-control studies about the association between the serum levels of DHEA-S and chronic urticaria;2.Using the same method, the database was searched to elicit case-control studies about the association between the serum levels of PRL and chronic urticaria;3.Setting the limit of search time: from inception to February 2017 in every database;4.Two reviewers respectively screened literature, extracted data and evaluated the methodologic quality;5.Meta-analysis,sensitivity analysis, and published bias asseaament were performed by Rev Man 5.3 software.Results:1.Totally,there are 12 qualified documents were included, involving 14 case-control studies;2.There are 10 case-control studies on the relationship between the serum levels of DHEA-S and chronic urticaria;the results of meta-analysis showed that low levels of the serum DHEA-S might be association with CU,and the difference was statistically significant(SMD =-0.94,95% CI-1.09 to-0.80,P<0.00001);according to the difference of measuring methods of DHEA-S,subgroup analysis were conducted, and the results indicated that low levels of the serum DHEA-S might be association with CU,and the difference was statistically significant(electrochemiluminescence immunoassay,ECLIA:SMD =-0.73,95%CI-0.94 to-0.52,P<0.00001;enzyme linked immunosorbent assay,ELISA: SMD =-0.59,95%CI-0.87 to-0.31,P<0.0001;enzyme immunoassay,EIA: SMD =-2.33,95%CI-1.92 to-1.37,P<0.00001);according to the difference of gender, subgroup analysis were conducted, and the results indicated that both male and female groups were compared with the control group the DHEA-S levels were low,and the difference was statistically significant(female: SMD =-0.99,95%CI-1.20 to-0.78),P<0.00001;male: SMD =-0.65,95%CI-0.96 to-0.33,P <0.0001);according to the female physiological period different, divided into premenopausal and postmenopausal two subgroups were analyzed, the results showed that only pre menopausal populations of patients with chronic urticaria DHEA-S level is lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant, and after menopause group,no significant difference(before menopause: SMD =-1.17,95%CI-1.40 to-0.94,P<0.00001;after menopause: SMD: =-0.13,95%CI-0.62 to 0.37,P=0.62);3.There are 4 case-control studies on the relationship between the serum levels of PRL and chronic urticaria;the results of meta-analysis showed that high levels of the serum PRL might be association with CU,and the difference was statistically significant(SMD= 0.45,95% CI(0.21,0.70),P=0.0002);4.Sensitivity analysis showed that these results stable and reliable;5.Funnel plot shows that exists publication bias.Conclusion:1.The low levels of serum DHEA-S might be association with CU;2.The high levels of serum PRL might be association with CU in women;3.By the limits of study types, study quality, and study quatity of the present research, these conclusions are needed to verify by more high quality studies.
