Objective: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is characterized by breathing difficulty and reduction of exercise capacity.Treatment of COPD usually depends on bronchodilators and pulmonary rehabilitation.Indacaterol is a relative new long-acting inhaled beta-agonist bronchodilators, but the effect of indacaterol combined with Taichi on patients with COPD has not been assessed. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of Taichi and conventional exercise rehabilitation on patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease under the treatment of Indacaterol.SGRQ,lung function and m MRC were observed. Methods: A total of 120 COPD patients(FEV1% were between 25%-80%)recruited from Xingning City were studied Participants were randomly divided into two groups to perform either Taichi or conventional exercise rehabilitation.Lung function test,SGRQ and m MRC were performed before and after 12 week simplified Yan-style Taichi(5 days/week at least 1 hour per day)or conventional pulmonary rehabilitation(3 days/week,1 hour per day)Results: 57 patients on Taichi group and 53 patients on PR group finished the experiment.SGRQ and m MRC improved significantly after 12 week Taichi or PR.but lung function parameters changed little for both groups. However, the improvement in SGRQ and m MRC was similar for Taichi group and PR group. Conclusion: Taichi combined with indacaterol can improved SGRQ and m MRC in patients with COPD and could be used to replace conventional pulmonary rehabilitation. |
