Objective To investigate the correlation between serum visinin like protein 1(VILIP-1)levels and cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke. Methods 120 cases of patients with acute cerebral infarction who were admitted to the department of neurology in First Affiliated Hospital of Shihezi University and 60 cases of healthy volunteers were selected as research objects from November 2014 to May 2015,all research objects were divided into cognitive impairment group, normal cognitive function group and control group according to the results of Montreal cognitive scale(Mo CA)at enrollment(acute period of cerebral infarction),1 year after cerebral infarction and control group was enrolled, fasting venous blood were extracted and the concentrations of serum VILIP-1 were quantitatively determinated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Serum VILIP-1 levels in different groups were compared and the correlation between serum VILIP-1 level and cognitive impairment was analyzed.Results(1)The levels of serum VILIP-1 of the cognitive impairment group[(552.96±52.32)pg/mL?(495.62±91.83)pg/m L ]were significantly higher than normal cognitive function group [(398.44±68.40)pg/m L?(364.43±77.07)pg/m L] and control group(345.90±84.49)pg/m L at enrollment and 1 year after cerebral infarction,P<0.01.(2)At enrollment, compared with normal cognitive function group, the cognitive impairment patients had lower total score of Mo CA,visual spatial executive function, attention, language, abstraction, delayed memory and orientation(P<0.001),the two groups showed no significant difference in the naming(P>0.05);on 1 year after cerebral infarction, the two groups showed no significant difference in the naming and abstraction(P>0.05),the cognitive impairment patients had lower scores of the others(P?0.001).(3)Pearson correlation analysis showed that serum VILIP-1 level was negatively correlated with Mo CA score at enrollment and 1 year after cerebral infarction(r=-0.680,P=0.000;r=-0.646,P=0.000).(4)To determine whether the cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke by the level of serum VILIP-1,ROC curve under the area of 0.961?0.860 at enrollment and 1 year after cerebral infarction;the cutoff value was 469.69 pg/m L at enrollment, the sensitivity was 95.65%,the specificity was 83.78%,the accuracy rate was 88.33%;the cutoff value was 419.86 pg/m L on 1 year after cerebral infarction, the sensitivity was 86.96%,the specificity was 80.85%,the accuracy rate was 82.86%.Conclusion(1)The serum level of VILIP-1 in patients with cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke was higher than normal people on acute period and 1 year after cerebral infarction.(2)serum VILIP-1 level was negatively correlated with the level of cognitive function on acute period and 1 year after ischemic stroke.(3)The serum level of VILIP-1 had a good sensitivity and specificity in the assessment of cognitive function after ischemic stroke on acute period and 1 year after cerebral infarction, elevated levels of serum VILIP-1(up to 469.69 pg/m L on acute period and 419.86 pg/m L on 1 year after cerebral infarction)had certain clinical value on evaluation of cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke.
