| Objectives To investigate the relationship of the clinic,visit-to-visit and 24-hour ambulatory systolic blood pressure(SBP)with brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity(ba PWV)in the elderly. Methods In our study, data from Kailuan Group employees who attended all 3 physical examinations(taken in June 2006 to October 2007,July 2008 to October 2009,July 2010 to October 2011,respectively).The present study was conducted on 2464 participants who were selected from third physical examination and more then 60 years.Multivariate linear regression analysis(stepwise)was used to analyze the relation between the clinic,visit-tovisit,24 h ambulatory SBP and ba PWV,respectively and simutaneously.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between the clinic,visitto-visit,24 h ambulatory SBP and baPWV,respectively and simutaneously. Results 1 A total of 910 participant with comprehensive data were enrolled in the study. The ba PWV values and the incidence of ba PWV≥1400 cm/s were higher than those of the lower SBP groups(P<0.01).The results of stepwise linear regression analysis showed that the correlation between the clinic SBP and the ba PWV was better than that of the 24 h ABPM or visit-to-visit SBP.4 In the multivariate logistic regression analysis, the clinic,visit-to-visit,24 h ambulatory SBP into the equation at same time, and correction of other confounding factors, the results show that the clinic,visit-to-visit,24 h ambulatory SBP are risk factors of ba PWV,the OR was 8.39(P<0.05),1.49(P=0.481),3.32(P<0.05),respectively.Conclusions The clinic SBP has the greatest correlation with ba PWV then 24 h ambulatory SBP or visit-to-visit SBP. |
