Objective Explore the effects on health literacy and uncertainty in illness based on the stages of change(SOC)model for young and middle-aged patients with coronary heart disease(CHD),to provide effective methods for reducing uncertainty in illness and improving health literacy in patients with CHD.Method The study intervened patients were selected from cardiovascular wards in the People's hospital in Tangshan, from November 2015 to November 2016.They were divided into two groups, according to the admission hospitalization number. The odd were in control-group and the even were in intervention-group.The routine health education and care were given to the control-group;Intervention on the stages of change model was taken to the intervene-group over the routine health education and care. The intervention time last for one month. Before and after intervention,self-efficacy scale, health literacy scale, perceived knowledge scale for CHD,self-rating anxiety scale and Mished uncertainty in illness scale were taken to evaluate.Result 1 The sduty included 124 young and middle-aged patients with CHD who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. They were randomly divided into control-group(n=62)and intervene-group(n=62).Two patients death, five patients dropped out,55 patients were brought in control-group,but one patient death, four patients dropped out,57 patients were brought in intervene-group.2 There was not statistical difference in the baseline data between the two groups before intervention(P>0.05).3 The comparison of scores for self-efficacy: after intervention, the scores of self-efficacy in all degrees in intervene-group were higher than control-group,difference has statistically significant difference(P<0.05).4 The comparison of scores for health literacy: after intervention, the scores of health literacy in all degrees in intervention-group higher than control-group,have statistically significant difference(P<0.01).Risen scores in intervention-group were higher than control group;difference has statistically significant(P<0.05).5 The comparison of scores for perceived knowledge for CHD: after intervention, the scores for perceived knowledge for CHD in all degrees in intervention-group were higher than the control-group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).6 The comparison of scores for self-rating anxiety: after intervention, the scores of self-rating anxiety in intervention-group were lower than in control-group,difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).7 The comparison of scores for uncertainty in illness: after intervention, the scores for the uncertainty in illness were lower in intervention-group than controlgroup in other degrees except the degrees of unpredictable;the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before and after intervention, the scores difference of uncertainty in illness were lower in intervention-group than control-group in other degrees except the degrees of complexity and unpredictable. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusions 1 Intervention based on the stages of change model can improve selfefficacy, the health literacy of young and middle-aged patients with CHD.2 Intervention based on the stages of change model can improve perceived knowledge for CHD,ease anxiety and reduce uncertainty in illness of young and middle-aged patients with CHD.
