Research On Diagnostic Rule Of Menoxenia By Professor Zhang Zhenyu Based On Shennong Management System Of TCM

Objective: Menoxenia refers to women's abnormal menstrual cycle,period,amount and incidental symptom,and it is a common gynecological disease.Guiding Principles for Clinical Study of New Chinese Medicines issued by the Ministry of Health in 2002 defines menoxenia as a disease characterized by the abnormal menstrual cycle,period,quantity,color and quality.Along with the social development,women feel more pressure from family,study and work.What's more,bad habits,such as irregular work routine and excessive weight,contribute to the increased incidence of menoxenia year by year.Zhang Zhenyu,a famous national TCM doctor,has formed his unique way of diagnosis and treatment of menoxenia,with efficacy in clinic.The present research chooses 503 cases to study,with Shennong Management System of TCM used in data collection and analysis to study his diagnostic rule of menoxenia.Methods: Methods of theoretical research,case study and statistical analysis are adopted in our research.(1)Theoretical research: We analyze the record of menoxenia and its treatment by referring to medicine classics and recent research materials,and try to probe into the diagnostic rule of menoxenia with reference to clinical practice.(2)Case study: We analyze the cases of menstrual disease treated by Zhang Zhenyu during 1997-2005 in Zhong Lu Hospital and collect 503 cases of menoxenia with Shennong Management System of TCM.Then we extract disease cause,symptom and sign,syndrome and medication and put them in TCM Outpatient System to build a medical case database of menoxenia.We then analyze and discuss the related data with the above mentioned software with TCM theories,and the result is statistically significant.Results: The 503 cases show that the age of patient ranges from 11 to 74,with the average age of 30.43.The group aged from 20 to 30 is of high incidence,followed by that from 31 to 40.Spring has the highest morbidity,accounting for 31.01%,followed by autumn,accounting for 26.04%.In terms of syndrome identification,135 cases manifest as liver qi depression(26.84%),109 cases as liver qi deficiency(21.66%),61 cases as liver qi ascending counterflow(12.13%),49 cases as spleen qi deficiency(9.74%),38 cases as insecurity of thoroughfare vessel(7.55%),32 cases as liver qi depression and spleen deficiency(6.36%),29 cases as liver-stomach disharmony(5.77%),22 cases as kidney deficiency and liver depression(4.37%),8 cases as liver depression and kidney deficiency(1.59%),8 cases as blood sea deficiency(1.59%),7 cases as deficiency-cold of uterus(1.39%),3 cases as deficiency of heart and spleen qi(0.6%),2 cases as spleen deficiency leading to dampness accumulation(0.4%).Statistics show that the liver is mainly responsible for menoxenia,followed by spleen,kidney,thoroughfare vessel and sea of blood.Conclusion: 1.The child-bearing age women have a high incidence of menoxenia,and spring is the highest incidence season.2.Liver qi depression is main cause for menoxenia,while the damage of thoroughfare and conception vessels caused by visceral dysfunction,disorder of qi and blood is the pathogenesis.3.Root deficiency is the fundamental pathogenesis of menoxenia,and tonifying medicinal is most widely adopted in treatment.4.The Five zang-organs should all be considered in syndrome identification,with the focus being the liver and spleen.Besides,method of tonifying kidney is often adopted.5.The regulation of menstruation is based on harmony of qi and blood,and thus,medicinal should be tailored to regulating qi and blood.
