Clinical Study On Quantitative Evaluation Based On TCM Theory Of Five Spirits And Medicine Intervention For Vascular Dementia

Objective: The theory of Five Spirits was used to analyze and evaluate the main factor in consciousness disorder of VD(vascular dementia)patients.A new treatment plan combined Five Spirits treatment with Zangfu syndrome was proposed for VD.We compared the clinical treatment effect of the proposed method with the traditional Zangfu syndrome treatment.We desired to provide new ideas and methods for the treatment of VD.Methods:Firstly,80 cases of VD patients were chosen for experimentation in clinic,and all the subjects were assessed by the Five Spirits scale and SDSVD.Then the chosen patients were randomly divided into 2 groups including treatment group(five spirits and Zangfu syndrome)with 40 cases and control group(Zangfu syndrome)with 40 cases.Thirdly,we added some medicines to the treatment group based on the Five Spirits treatment with Zangfu syndrome,and the medicines for the control group were only on the basis of Zangfu syndrome.The standard decoction treatment was provided by Shandong Hospital of TCM for each VD patients once a day for six weeks.Finally,the two groups were assessed by the Five Spirits scale and SDSVD to evaluate the treatment effect before and after treatment in clinic.Results:According to the experimental result of Five Spirits scale,the chosen 80 cases were diagnosed as 31 cases(38.75%)with god element lesions,20 cases(25.00%)with ambition element lesions,12 cases(15.00%)with soul element lesions,10 cases(12.5%)with meaning element lesions,7 cases(8.75%)with spirit element lesions;For the control group,the P values of god and ambition element between before and after treatment were more than 0.05(P>0.05),respectively,which showed that the change of spirit clinical symptoms was not obvious,while the P values for the treatment group was smaller than 0.01(P<0.01)and the change was very obvious;The P value of the SDSVD syndrome score evaluation for two groups respectively before and after the treatment is bigger than 0.05(P>0.05),suggesting that the two groups of vascular dementia clinical symptoms of body was similar.Conclusion: According to the experimental results from the 80 cases with VD,we obtained that VD patients were the most likely to have abnormal god elements,and the second is abnormal ambition element;Compared treatment group and control group,we found that patients of treatment group,the mental symptom was changed more obviously than the control group,and it had a statistical significance.We concentrated on optimizing the clinical treatment of vascular dementia,so as to provide new ideas and methods for the treatment of VD.
