Objective:The purpose of this study is to know mental health status of soldiers in Yunnan and Tibet and their differences,to find out the impact factors of mental health,thus to supply basis for ffurther interventions.Methods:983 Yunnan-Tibet soldiers from combat troop were recruited as the research object by cluster random sampling.The testing tools included basic information questionnaire,Symptom Check List 90,Self-rating Anxiety Scale and Self-rating Depression Scale.I used analysis of variance,T test,chi-square test and Logistic regression analysis to explore the mental health status of Yunnan-Tibet soldiers and the impact factors.Results:1.The mental health status of Yunnan-Tibet soldiers:114 soldiers were detected positive,accouting for 11.6%,there were 42Yunnan soldiers,accounting for 4.27%,there were 72 Tibet soldiers,accounting for 7.32%.There were 83(8.44%)Yunnan-Tibet soldiers had anxious symptoms,35(3.56%)of them were Yunnan soldiers and 48(4.88%)of them were Tibet soldiers.91(9.26%)Yunnan-Tibet soldiers thad depressive symptoms,36(3.66%)of them were Yunnan soldiers.55(5.60%)of them were Tibet soldiers.There were 32 Yunnan-Tibet soldiers had anxious and depressive symptoms.12(1.22%)of them were Yunnan soldiers and 20(2.03%)of them were Tibet soldiers.2.The scores of SCL-90(1)The total scores of SCL-90 and each element score of Yunnan soldiers were significantly lower than soldiers norm.(2)The scores of somatization and anxiety of Tibet soldiers were significantly higher than soldiers norm.The scores of obsession,interpersonal relationship,paranoia and psychosis were significantly lower than soldiers norm.The scores of SCL-90,depression,hostility,fear had no significant difference from soldiers norm.(3)The total scores of SCL-90 and each factor had no significant difference between infantry corps and armoured corps.The total scores of SCL-90 and the scores of somatization,obsession and hostility of artillery corps were significantly higher than infantry corps.The total scores of SCL-90 and the scores of somatization,obsession,interpersonal relationship,hostility of artillery corps were significantly higher than armoured corps.(4)The total scores of SCL-90 and each element score of petty officers were significantly higher than soldiers.The total score of SCL-90 and each element score of officers were significantly higher than soldiers.There were no significantly differences between petty officers and officers.(5)The total scores of SCL-90 and the scores of obsession,anxiety,depression,hostility,paranoia and psychosis of soldiers graduated from high school were significantly higher than soldiers graduated from junior high school.The total scores of SCL-90 and each element score of soldiers graduated from junior college or above were significantly higher than soldiers graduated from junior high school.The total scores of SCL-90 and the scores of obsession,anxiety,depression of soldiers graduated from junior college or above were significantly higher than soldiers graduated from high school.(6)The total scores of SCL-90 and the scores of somatization,hostility,fear,paranoia and psychosis of soldiers who have been in army 3-5 years were significantly higher than soldiers who have been in army ?2 years.The total score of SCL-90 and each element score of soldiers who have been in army ? 6 years were significantly higher than soldiers who have been in army ?2 years and soldiers who have been in army 3-5 years.(7)The scores of anxiety,fear,paranoia of soldiers aged 21-25 years were significantly higher than soldiers aged ? 20 years,The total scores of SCL-90 and each element score of soldiers aged ?26 years were significantly higher than soldiers aged?20 years and soldiers aged 21-25 years.(8)The scores of obsession,interpersonal relationship,hostility of Han soldiers were significantly higher than ethnic minority soldiers.(9)The total scores of SCL-90 and each element score of married soldiers were significantly higher than unmarried soldiers.3.The results of SAS,SDS(1)The scores of SAS,SDS of Yunnan soldiers were significantly lower than Tibet soldiers and Chinese norm.(2)The scores of SAS,SDS had no significant difference between Tibet soldiers and Chinese norm.(3)The occurrence rates of anxiety and depression had no significant difference between infantry corps,armoured corps,and artillery corps.(4)The occurrence rates of depression of officers were significantly higher than petty officers and soldiers.The occurrence rates of anxiety and depression of petty officers were significantly higher than soldiers.(5)The occurrence rates of depression of soldiers graduated from junior college or above were significantly higher than soldiers graduated from junior high school.There was no difference between soldiers graduated from junior high school and soldiers graduated from high school.There was no significant difference between soldiers graduated from junior college or above and soldiers graduated from high school.(6)The occurrence rates of anxiety and depression of soldiers who have been in army ? 6 years were significantly higher than soldiers who have been in army ? 2 years and soldiers who have been in army 3-5 years.(7)The occurrence rates of anxiety and depression of soldiers aged ? 26 years were significantly higher than soldiers aged?20 years and soldiers aged 21-25 years.There was no significant difference between soldiers aged ? 20 years and soldiers aged 21-25 years.(8)The occurrence rates of anxiety and depression had no significant difference between Han soldiers and ethnic minority soldiers.(9)The occurrence rates of anxiety and depression of married soldiers were significantly higher than unmarried soldiers are high-risk people4.Logistic regression analysis showed that:the factors of official rank,age,education,marriage had an impact on the anxiety level of Yunnan-Tibet soldiers.The factors of official rank,length of military service,age,education,marriage had an impact on the depression level of Yunnan-Tibet soldiers.Conclusion:1.Mental health status of Yunnan soldiers was better than Tibet soldiers and soldiers norm.Mental health status of Tibet soldiers was good except the factors of somatization and anxiety.2.Tibet soldiers had poor body feel and anxious symptom,It explained that plateau climate have a significant impact on the physical and mental health of soldiers.Therefore we should pay attention to the protection work of physical and mental health of soldiers under high-altitude weather conditions.3.The factors of crops,official rank,education level,age,length of military service,marriage had an impact on mental health of Yunnan-Tibet soldiers.Tibet soldiers,artillery corps,officers,aged soldiers,married soldiers are high-risk groups of psychological problems.They are important object in future mental health work.
