Objective:In this study,we evaluated the nonemolar symptoms and health-related quality of life of patients with first diagnosis of Meige syndrome, analyzed the incidence of non-motor symptoms, and analyzed their impact on the health-related quality of life of patients. Methods:The patients were treated with 25 patients with Meige syndrome from May 2016 to April 2017 for the first time in the Department of Geriatric Neurology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University. The control group was 30 healthy people who matched the age group, sex, place of residence and educational level to the case group. The anxiety, depression, sleep quality and cognitive function of the two groups was evaluated by the Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA),the Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)and the The Addenbrooke's cognitive examination III(ACE-III).The health-related quality of life of the two groups of subjects was assessed using the Health Survey Profile(SF-36).All the data were recorded in SPSS21.0 for statistical analysis.Results:1.General information for both groups of subjects:Among the 25 patients with Meige syndrome, there were 7 males and 18 females with an average age of(53.20 ± 8.66)years and an average education duration of(9.04 ±3.16)years.Among the 30 healthy controls,20 females and 10 males, with an average age of(49.90 ± 6.76)years,an average age of education of(9.67 ± 3.27)years;the two groups of subjects to match the general data(all P>0.05).2.The incidence of non-motor symptoms in patients:1)Anxiety symptoms:25 cases of Meige syndrome in 12 patients with anxiety, anxiety rate was 48%,compared with healthy control group, higher than the incidence of anxiety was 13.3%,the difference was statistically significant(x2 = 7.944,P =0.005).2)Depression symptoms:There were 14 cases of depression and depression in 25 patients with Meige syndrome. The incidence of depression was 23.3%higher than that of healthy control group(34%),and the difference was statistically significant(x2=6.165,P = 0.013).3)Sleep disorders:compared with the healthy control group, the patient group of the sleep time shorten, the use of sleeping drugs increased(P<0.05);There was no significant difference in subjective sleep quality, sleep latency, sleep efficiency, sleep disorders and total score of PSQI between the two groups(all P>0.05).4)Cognitive function:According to the average score of ACE-? in the healthy control group, the cut-off value of ACE-? in patients with Meige syndrome was calculated by 79.There were 14 cases of cognitive dysfunction in 25 patients, and their language fluency was worse than that of healthy control group(P<0.05).There was no significant differences in attention, memory, language and visual space and total score between the two groups(all P>0.05).5)Health-related quality of life:Meige syndrome.in patients with general health perceptions, general mental health and SF-36 score was lower than the healthy control group(all P<0.05).There were no significant differences in physical functioning,role-physical,bodily pain,role-emotion,vitality and social functioning between the two groups(all P>0.05).3.Effects of non-motor symptoms on health-related quality of life in patients:Anxiety and depression both affect its role-physical,physical functioning, bodily pain, general health perceptions,vitality,role-emotion and total score(a11 P<0.05)The duration of sleep of the patient, the use of sleeping drugs affect their emotional function, mental health and total score(all P<0.05).The language fluency of patients affected the physical functioning(all P<0.05).Conclusion1.Meige syndrome patients with anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, the incidence of cognitive impairment is high;sleep disorders mainly in the sleep time is shortened, the use of sleeping drugs increased;cognitive impairment mainly in language fluency.2.Meige syndrome in patients with poor health-related quality of life, mainly in the general health perceptions, general mental health and health-related quality of life overall situation.3.The anxiety, depression, shortening of sleep duration, increased use of sleeping drugs, and decreased language fluency in patients with Meige syndrome were the risk factors of health-related quality of lfe.
