Objective:To investigate whether the core symptoms of autism spectrum disorders(ASD) impact on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in children with ASD.Methods:In this paper, the study contain 67 Autism Spectrum Disorder children which participate in structured training class in April to October of 2014 in the children’s hospital of Chongqing medical university. Adapting the scale of life quality(PedsQLTM 4.0)which contains 2-4 years parents report and 5-7 years parents report to understanding of HRQoL in Four dimensions, that contains Physiological function, emotional function, social function, school function. Adapting core symptoms questionnaire to understanding of general information of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Whether they have patterns of restricted or repetitive interests and behaviors and the severity level of patterns of restricted or repetitive interests and behaviors. T-test and correlation analysis to understand the relationship between the core symptoms and the HRQoL of autism spectrum disorders.Results:(1)The relationship of overall core symptoms with PedsQL total score, emotional function, social function and school function was negatively correlated (r=-0.555, -0.490,-0.383,-0.357), There were statistically significant (PP<0.05 or P<0.01), no significant correlation with physiological function. The relationship of patterns of restricted or repetitive interests and behaviors with PedsQL total score, emotional function, social function was negatively correlated (r=- 0.503,-0.600, r=-0.474), There were statistically significant (P<0.01), no significant correlation with physiological function, school performance. There were no significant correlation in social barriers associated with HRQoL of ASD children.(2)Mild patterns of restricted or repetitive interests and behaviors of children with ASD, their PedsQL total score, physical function, emotional function, social function and school function were Higher than severe patterns of restricted or repetitive interests and behaviors of children with ASD, Differences in emotional function, social function was statistically significant (P<0.05).Overall quality of life, physical function, school performance difference was not statistically significant.Conclusion:(1)ASD children with poor HRQoL, HRQoL related to patterns of restricted or repetitive interests and behaviors, has nothing to do with social barriers.(2)The more serious of patterns of restricted or repetitive interests and behaviors of children with ASD the more worse HRQoL of ASD children.(3)There are strong reaction to changing On the environment and patterns of life, Stereotypical language or action, What does not want to wait, Under normal light squint, frown, Excessive love or reject different textures impat on emotional function, social function were more obvious.
