Objective : Observe the influences of statins on Blood Glucose and Retinol binding protein 4 of elderly people;Compare the differences between rosuvastatin and simvastatin's influences of statins on Blood Glucose and Retinol binding protein 4.Method:179 elderly people(>65 years)were selected in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Normal University,who used to be hospitalized from March to September in 2014.They were randomly divided into two groups:91 in rosuvastatin(take once every night,10 mg each time)and 88 in simvastatin(take once every night,20 mg each time).Record patients' name,gender,age,contact information,smoking history,drinking history,primary diagnosis,blood pressure and body mass index before taking the agent.After recording three different periods of patients(before taking the agent,after taking the agent for four weeks and for twenty-four weeks),have blood tests separately to check for total cholesterol,triglyceride,low density lipoprotein-cholesterol,high density lipoprotein-cholesterol,alanine transaminase,aspartate transaminase,creatinine,blood urea nitrogen,fasting plasma glucose,2–hour postprandial blood glucose,Glycosylated hemoglobin and Retinol binding protein 4.Results:(1)Rosuvastatin and simvastatin had no statistical differences for general information(P>0.05).(2)Compared taking rosuvastatin and simvastatin for four weeks with before taking the agent,patients' TC and LDL-C decreased(P<0.05).Patients' TC,TG and LDL-C decreased(P<0.05),HDL-C increased(P<0.05)after taking rosuvastatin and simvastatin for twenty-four weeks.(3)Compared taking rosuvastatin and simvastatin for four weeks with before taking the agent,patients' FPG,2h PG and RBP4 increased while it didn't reach statistical significance(P>0.05).Hb A1 c increased(P<0.05).Patients' FPG,2hPG,Hb A1 c and RBP4 increased(P<0.05)after taking statins for twenty-four weeks.(4)Compared taking rosuvastatin for four weeks with before taking the agent,patients' FPG,2hPG and RBP4 increased while it didn't reach statistical significance(P>0.05).Hb A1 c increased(P<0.05).Patients' FPG,2hPG,HbA1 c and RBP4 increased(P<0.05)after taking rosuvastatin for twenty-four weeks.(5)Compared taking simvastatin for four weeks with before taking the agent,patients' FPG,2hPG and RBP4 increased while it didn,t reach statistical ignificance(P>0.05).Hb A1 c increased(P<0.05).After taking simvastatin for twenty-four weeks,Patients' FPG increased while it didn't reach statistical significance(P>0.05).However,2hPG,HbA1c and RBP4 increased(P<0.05).(6)Compared group of rosuvastatin with group of simvastatin after taking the agent for four weeks,the differences of patients' FPG,2hPG and RBP4 had no statistical differences(P>0.05).As for HbA1 c,group of simvastatin was higher than group of rosuvastatin(P<0.05).After taking the agent for twenty-four weeks,the differences of two groups in FPG and RBP4 had no statistical differences(P>0.05)while group of simvastatin was higher than group of rosuvastatin as to 2hPG and HbA1c(P<0.05).Conclusion:(1)Rosuvastatin and simvastatin can increasing elderly people on FPG,2hPG,HbA1 c and RBP4.(2)Simvastatin had a more distinct effect on increase of 2hPG and Hb A1 c to elderly people than rosuvastatin.
