Objective:To investigate the relationship between serum osteoprotegerin(OPG)and tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-)levels and osteoporosis in elderly patients with type 2diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods:2 elderly patients with type 45 diabetic osteoporosis were divided into diabetic osteoporosis group, patients with normal bone mass in elderly patients with type 2diabetes in 45 cases for diabetes and normal bone mass group, another 45 healthy elderly subjects during the same period as the control group.Comparison of the three groups of general situation, glucose metabolism index,OPG,TNF-alpha,BMD level of each site and OPG,TNF-levels in different vertebral BMD group.Results:(1)The three groups had no statistically significant gender,age,BMI,SBP,DBP,TC,TG,HDL-C,LDL-C,Ca,P and other indicators of the difference(P > 0.05);(2)Diabetic osteoporosis diabetes group,FIns,FPG,the normal bone mass group were significantly higher than that of 2hPG,HbA1 c the control group(P < 0.05),no significant diabetic osteoporosis group and diabetes group,FPG,FIns normal bone mass 2hPG,HbA1 c difference(P > 0.05);(3)Between the three groups of OPG,TNF-level differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05),diabetic osteoporosis group the highest and lowest in the control group;the control group(4)Of each part of BMD levels were significantly higher than that of diabetic osteoporosis group and diabetic normal bone mass group(P < 0.05),diabetic osteoporosis group and diabetes group compared with normal bone density of each part of BMD level difference system The significance of OPG(P > 0.05);(5)The difference of OPG and TNFlevels between different groups of vertebral BMD was statistically significant(P <0.05),that is,the lower the BMD,the higher the level of.Conclusion:(1)The levels of OPG and TNF-in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were increased, suggesting that OPG and TNF-are closely related to the occurrence and development of type 2 diabetic osteoporosis.(2)The levels of OPG and TNFwere negatively correlated with the level of BMD,indicating that OPG and TNFwere correlated with the degree of osteoporosis, which could be used to observe the severity of the disease.
