Objective: To study the curative effect of high-frequency transcranial magnetic stimulation on the treatment of negative symptoms in patients with schizophrenia. Methods: 66 patients with schizophrenia in our hospital were recruited and randomly divided into two groups: patients in the research group received the high frequency rTMS stimulation and patients in control group received stimulating pseudo rTMS treatment. These patients were treated for one month and followed up for a month.Clinical symptoms were examined by PANSS,SANS,PRM index score test and score changes of these scales before and after treatment were used to evaluate the effects of high frequency rTMS stimulation on the treatment of negative symptoms in patients. Results: At the end of the treatment,in research group:(1)the SANS scores including SAF,SVB,SISL,SVB,SPT,and SAD index were lower than those of baseline, and the total SANS score was decreased;(2)the PANSS scores including POS and NEG,GPS index were lower than those of baseline, and the total score was decreased;(3)the PRM scores including N,T1,T2 index were statistically significant from those of baseline(P < 0.05).However,no difference was found in control groups in the scores of SANS,PANSS and PRM before baseline and after treatment(P > 0.05).At the end of the second month during the follow-up period,in research group:(1)the SANS scores including SAF,SVB,SISL,SVB,SPT,and SAD index were lower than those at the end of the first month, and the total SANS score was decreased;(2)the PANSS scores including POS and NEG,GPS index were lower than those at the end of the first month, and the total score was decreased;(3)the PRM scores including N,T1,T2 index were statistically significant from those at the end of the first month(P < 0.05).However,no difference was found in control groups in the scores of SANS,PANSS and PRM at the end of the first month and the second month(P > 0.05).Conclusion: Schizophrenic negative symptoms can be alleviated by using high frequency rTMS stimulation and the effect is more obvious at two months after treatment.Furthermore, high frequency rTMS stimulation can also significantly improve the cognitive function of patients with schizophrenia.
