Objective:This study is designed to explored the clinical features and the prognostic factors that affect the survival of multiple myeloma(MM)patients. Methods:The clinical data of 164 MM patients were collected from January01,2011 to December 31,2016 in the Guangxi Medical University Affiliated Tumor Hospital. We made Retrospective analysis for the clinical data 164 cases of clinical features, laboratory data and treatment programs.Survival analysis of 84 MM patients with complete data was estimated with Kaplan-Meier curves.Log-rank test was used to compare the univariate analysis. And multivariate stratification was analyzed by COX proportional hazard model. Results:The median age of the MM patients was 58 years(25-89 years),and the ratio of male to female was 1.6: 1.The proportion of patients with D-S stage III and ISS stage III was 60.98% and 57.46% respectively.38 cases of MM patients with complete immunophenotyping data were mainly Ig G type, accounting for55.2%,followed by light chain type, accounting for 21.1%.Univariate analysis and multivariate analysis were used for 84 MM patients with complete data of factors affecting the Overall survival(OS)and Progression free survival(PFS).Univariate analysis found that patients with elevated serum creatinine levels had shorter PFS than patients with normal creatinine levels, the difference of their survival hadstatistically significant(P = 0.023).Patients with serum albumin decreased had shorter PFS than patients with normal serum albumin, the difference of their survival also had statistically significant(P = 0.000).Multivariate analysis found that serum albumin(HR = 0.358,95% CI: 0.187-0.685,P = 0.002)was an independent factor affecting PFS in MM patients.Serum creatinine(HR = 2.055,95% CI: 1.055-4.005,P = 0.034)and albumin(HR = 0.304,95% CI: 0.136-0.680,P = 0.004)were all independent factors affecting OS in MM patients.Conclusion:(1)In our hospital, the median age of 164 MM patients is low, male patients are more common than female patients, more than half of the patients are late at the time of initial diagnosis, the type of immunophenotype is predominantly Ig G.(2)Different serum creatinine and serum albumin levels can be used as independent prognostic factors for overall survival in MM patients.
