Expression Significance Of 4E-BP1 And P-4E-BP1 In Endometrial Carcinoma

OBJECTIVETo investigate the expression of eukaryotic initiation factor 4E-binding protein 1(4E-BP1)and its phosphorylation in different endometrial tissue,discussing its correlation with the clinicopathologic features and prognosis of endometrial carcinoma.METHODSImmunohistochemical methods were used to detect the expression of4E-BP1 and p-4E-BP1 in endometrial adenocarcinoma and endometrial atypical hyperplasia and normal endometrium tissues.The correlation of expression levels and endometrial carcinoma clinicophathological characteristic were analyized with the age,stage,histopathology grade,lymphonode metastasis,depth of myometrial invasion and ascitic fluid cytology.RESULTS(1)We found that the positive rates of 4E-BP1 expression in normal endometrium ? endometrial atypical hyperplasia and endometrial adenocarcinoma samples were 81.8%(18/22)? 33.3%(9/27)?20.9%(13/62)respectively,the difference was significant(p < 0.05).While the P-4E-BP1 expression rates among them showed a increased tendency gradually,which were 22.7%(5/22)?59.3%(16/27)?82.3%(51/62)respectively.The difference was significant(p < 0.05)as well.(2)The expression of 4E-BP1 had no obvious correlation with the clinicopathological features of endometrial adenocarcinoma(p > 0.05).(3)P-4E-BP1 was associated with histopathology grade,the depth of myometrial invasion(p < 0.05),but was not related to the age,grade,lymph node metastasis or the positive ascites cytology(p < 0.05).Along with the decreasing of of the histological differentiation grade,the expression of P-4E-BP1 increased significantlyp < 0.05).Moreover,its expression rate was higher in the deep myometrial invasion(p < 0.05).CONCLUSIONS1.There is no correlation between the expression of 4E-BP1 and the clinicopathological characteristics of endometrial adenocarcinoma.2.The expression of P-4E-BP1 was associated with the histopathology grade and the depth of myometrial invasion,and it may play be a useful biomarker for the prognosis of endometrial adenocarcinoma.
