Objective:To analyze the expression of CD68and YKL-40protein in endometrial adenoca-rcinoma.Studying their relationship with clinicopathologic parameters of endometrialcancer and its clinical significance.Methods:1. The expression of CD68and YKL-40protein were examined usingimmunohistochemistry in20cases of normal endometrium (NE),20cases ofendometrial atypical hyperplasia(EAH) and56cases of endometrial adenoca-rcinoma(EAC).2.The all data was analyzed by the SPSS17.0statistical software.Results:1. CD68protein can be expressed in all groups. The positive expression rates ofCD68in the NE, EAH, and EAC groups were30%,55%and80.4%respectively. Thepositive expression rate of CD68in EAC tissues was obviously higher than that inEAH tissues(X2=4.887, P=0.027<0.05),and significantly higher than that in NEtissue(sX2=16.929, P=0.000<0.05).The positive expression rate of CD68in EAH andNE tissues has no statistic difference(X2=2.558, P=0.11>0.05). In EAC tissues, theexpression of CD68was significantly correlated with histological grade, myometrialinvasion, lymph node metastasis(P=0.019, P=0.047, P=0.005, P all <0.05), but notwith age and clinical stage(P=1.0, P=0.697, P all>0.05).2. YKL-40protein can be expressed in all groups too. The positive expressionrates of YKL-40in the NE, EAH, and EAC groups were25%,40%and76.8%respectively. The positive expression rate of YKL-40in EAC tissues was obviouslyhigher than that in EAH tissues(X2=9.034, P=0.003<0.05),and significantly higherthan that in NE(X2=16.984, P=0.000<0.05).The positive expression rate of YKL-40in EAH and NE tissues has no statistic difference(X2=1.026, P=0.311>0.05). In EACtissues, the expression of YKL-40was significantly correlated with histologicalgrade(P=0.008, P<0.05), but not with age,clinical stage,myometrial invasion andlymph node metastasis(P=0.186, P=0.852, P=0.511, P=0.752, P all>0.05). 3.There was a positive correlation between CD68and YKL-40expressions inEAC(rs=0.367, P=0.005).Conclusions:1. The positive expression rates of CD68and YKL-40in the NE, EAH, andEAC groups showed a trend of increased gradually.2. With EAC patients with loss of histological differentiation,deep myometrialinvasion and lymph node metastasis,the positive expression rate of CD68ishigher.With EAC patients with loss of histological differentiation,the positiveexpression rate of YKL-40protein is also higher.3. There was a positive expression correlation between CD68and YKL-40inEAC.
