Objective: To analyze the clinical data of Uygur and Han nationality patients with acute cerebral infarction inKashi Prefecture,Xinjiang, and to investigate the distribution characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)Syndromes of acute cerebral infarction in different races in this region,so as to explore the pathogenesis of cerebral infarction, and to provide basis for the treatment, screening, and prevention of cerebral infarction in integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was carried out among 200 patients with acute cerebral infarction in two general hospitals of level II inKashi Prefecture from January 2015 to June 2016,in combination with the collection of general information, body mass index(BMI),smoking, alcohol consumption, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, coronary heart disease, hyperlipidemia and other common risk factors.Meanwhile, four diagnostic information of TCM was collected on the basis of the use of the diagnostic scale of syndrome elements in ischemic stroke.Furthermore, according to the scores of TCM syndromes and the location of cerebral infarction, the distribution characteristics of common risk factors and TCM syndromes were observed in Uygur and Han nationality patients with cerebral infarction in Northwest China. Results: A database was established using SPSS 17.0 for statistical analysis,as well as data entry, collation, statistical processing and analysis.Statistical methods included: descriptive statistics analysis,chi-square test,Spearman correlation analysis, and multivariate logistic regression analysis. The results were listed as follows:(1)Advanced age might be an important risk factor for Uygur patients with cerebral infarction.(2)Religious belief might be a health factor of cerebrovascular disease.(3)Syndrome elements of TCM in Uygur nationality were inconsistent with that in Han nationality.Phlegm-Fire and Qi-Yin Deficiency were the main pathogenesis of cerebral infarction in this region.(4)Risk factors were correlated with TCM Syndromes of stroke. Conclusion: In this research, through the comparative study of the general condition and TCM syndromes of patients with cerebral infarction in different nationalities of the same region, the results suggest that religious belief is a health factor of cerebrovascular disease.According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, the adjustment of distribution difference of constitution from diet, living and other aspects may contribute to the reduced morbidity of stroke.Additionally, the development of economy, the popularization of education and the promotion of healthy lifestyle are of positive significance for the prevention of stroke. The improvement of the medical literacy of primary medical workers, the management of risk factors of cerebral infarction, the regulation of blood pressure and high-risk non-disabling cerebrovascular diseases,as well as the popularization of the standardized treatment of cerebral infarction are the foundation to prevent the disease, improve the curative effect of cerebral infarction and reduce disability.
