| bjective:To analysis the distribution of syphilis and human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)infection as well as the epidemic characteristics and trends in our hospital venereal outpatient from 2010 to 2012.To understand the prevalence of syphilis in HIV infected people and the HIV infection spread situation in syphilis cases.To investigate factors associated with HIV and syphilis infection.These studies may provide significant reference for the prevention and treatment of syphilis and AIDS in the future.Methods:Syphilis and HIV infected patients who initial diagnosed collected from our hospital venereal outpatient from January 2010 and December 2012.The outpatients initial diagnosed with syphilis,using a double antigen sandwich enzyme-linked immunoassay for early HIV screening.The HIV positive patients for the first screening will be used a different double antigen sandwich enzyme-linked immunoassay for screening again.If the second is positive too,the patients will be confirmed by Western blot.If the early screening for HIV was negative,the patients should be tested again three months later,and positive people continue to the follow test.Using treponema pallidum particle agglutination test(TPPA),rapid plasma regain test(RPR)screening the HIV infected patients that initial diagnosed.The collected data input excel spreadsheet files.The differences in gender,age,occupation,popular history and so on between the syphilis and HIV co-infected patients and HIV infected patients,and the differences HIV infected rate in the syphilis infected patients each year and syphilis infected rate in HIV-infected patients each year,we use SPSS 17.0 software package for statistical analysis.Results:We diagnosed 1,701 cases syphilis patients in our hospital venereal outpatient from 2010 to 2012.703 cases were diagnosed in 2010,548 cases were diagnosed in 2011,and 450 cases were diagnosed in 2012.The proportion of patients with latent syphilis is the highest accounted for 49.6%,followed by secondary syphilis accounted for 34%.156 cases of HIV-infected patients were confirmed,among patients between 20 and 29,the infection rate of HIV is the highest accounted for 50%,followed by patients between 30 and 39 accounted for 28.2%.The sum of the two groups accounted for approximate eighty percent of the total numbers.Male patients 141 cases,female patients 13 cases,and the ratio male to female ratio is 10.8:1.45 cases were diagnosed in 2010,54 cases were diagnosed in 2011,57 cases were diagnosed in 2012.13 cases of syphilis and HIV co-infection,were all male,accounted for 0.7%of patients with syphilis,and accounted for 8%of HIV infected patients.The proportion of syphilis and HIV co-infected patients in the same year syphilis patients were 0.3%in 2010,0.07%in 2011,1.6%in 2012,and 4.4%in 2010,7.4%in 2011,12.3%in 2012 in the HIV infected patients.In addition to the routes of infection,the differences in age,marital status,staff,cultural level is not significant between HIV infected patients with syphilis infection and HIV infected patients who without syphilis infection(P>0.05).The syphilis infected patients rate in HIV infected patients from 2010 to 2012 have no significant difference(P>0.05).The HIV infected patients rate in syphilis infected patients from 2010 to 2012 have no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusions:Syphilis of new cases in our hospital STD clinic between 2010 and 2012 decreased year by year,the majority of syphilis cases in outpatient were secondary syphilis and latent syphilis.HIV infection increased year by year,the young male group as the main object of HIV infection.We should strengthen HIV/AIDS prevent and control measures,especially for the young people.Syphilis and HIV co-infected people in HIV infected patients and syphilis infected patients did not change significantly each year.A high HIV and syphilis co-infected incidence combined with the infection pathways,man who have sex with man(MSM)is the high risk factor for HIV and syphilis co-infection. |
