Objective:To explore the prognosis factors in elderly sudden sensoriousnal hearing loss, analyzing the clinical features and diagnosis above 60-years patients in this retrospective study.Methods:148 patients(158 ears)above 60-years old were recruited, who received treatment in Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Chinese PLA General Hospital between December 2011 and July 2015.Different clinical features were summarized, including genders, age, sides, clinical duration, accompany symptoms, past medical history, the degree of hearing loss, the hearing curve type even the audio test result(such as ABR&DPOAE produces waves or not),that may play a key role in the prognosis. Results:Among the 148 recruited cases with the average age of 67.95 ± 7.03 years,69 females,79 males.138 cases were unilateral hearing loss and 10 cases(20 ears)were bilateral.More than half of the patients(68.92%)had homolateral or contralateral hearing loss before. The past medical history were considered as hypertension in 70 cases(47.30%),comary atherosclerotic heart disease in 31 cases(20.27%),diabetes mellitus in 29 cases(19.59%),and 11 cases(7.43%)were hyperlipemia. After comprehensive treatment, the overall recovery rate was 36.08%,the complete recovery rate was 5.70%.Basic analysis and logistic regression were adopted in the retrospective research.Statistical analysis suggest that the gender, earlier treatment onset and the degree of hearing loss are associated with the hearing recovery, which have a statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion(s):A large part of the elderly patients suffered from sudden hearing loss as well as the different cardiovascular disease. The female recovery rate was about 2.308 times as that of male patients. There are significant negative correlations between the treatment onset duration, the degree of the hearing loss and the curative effect:the shorter waiting time is,the milder hearing loss is,the better recovery patients will have. The concurrence of accompany symptoms, past medical history and the result of ABR and DPOAE had no obvious impact on the prognosis.
