Objectives:To investigate the effects of atorvastatin combined with ezetimibe on blood lipid, serum inflammatory factors and carotid plaque in patients with hypertension and diabetes.Methods:100 cases of hypertension and diabetes patients with carotid athero-sclerotic plaque were selected during the period from August 2015 to May 2016,they were randomly divided into A(treatment group),B(control group)by the method of draw,50 cases in each group. All information collected include general data such as gender, age, body mass index, smoking history, blood test data include triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),fasting blood glucose(FBG),glycosylated hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c),high-sensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),other data contains systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),and carotid intima-media' thickness(CIMT).The liver and kidney function, adverse drug reactions and complications were monitored at the same time.Group A were treated with atorvastatin 20mg and ezetimibe 10mg,while group B were treated with atorvastatin 20mg.The changes of serum lipid, inflammatory factors and CIMT were compared 3 months after treatment between the two groups. The follow-up time was appropriately extended if the difference was not statistically significant. Results:After 3 months of treatment, the TC,TG,LDL-C,hs-CRP of the two groups were lower than before, and the treatment group decreased more than the control group(P<0.05),the differences were statistically significant. The HDL-C was higher, and CIMT was lower than.before(P>0.05),but there was no significant difference between two groups.Prolonged.the CIMT follow-up time, the CIMT of two groups were lower than before(P<0.05),and the differences were statistically significant after 10 months of treatment. Conclusions:Atorvastatin combined with ezetimibe can better reduce the levels of serum lipid, inflammatory factors, decrease the CIMT,eventually slow down the progress of atherosclerosis, and can even reverse the formation of plague on patients with hypertension and diabetes.
