Clinical Observation On Simple Obesity Treated With Acupoints Selection Along Channel Conducted By Meridian Measure Technique

ObjectiveTo verify the effectiveness of the meridian measure can be used as the basis of selecting acupoints along channel,in order to provide a new method for the treatment of simple obesity.MethodsThe simple obesity patients were randomly divided into experimental group and control group.The experimental group adopted JK-02B-type traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)meridian detector,and took the special acupoints at both sides of 12 meridians as a collecting site for meridian detection,the deficiency and excess of meridians were judged according to the exported single-meridian analysis report after the detection was done,namely,it is believed to be deficiency syndrome when the energy value falls into the L interval,and it is believed to be excess syndrome when the energy value falls into the H interval;this research views the meridians that are prevailed by deficiency or excess as diseased meridians,then based on the detection result,the acupoints on the diseased meridians were taken along the meridian for treatment;The control group conducted a typing of syndrome differentiation and acupuncture treatment according to the method of syndrome differentiation related to this disease and stated in Acupuncture and Moxibustion therapy chiefly edited by Wang Qicai,the acupoint of Zhongwan(CV12),Guanyuan(CV4),Shuifen(CV9),Yinlinquan(SP9),Neiting(ST44),Sanyinjiao(SP6),Fenglong(ST40),Shangjuxu(ST37),Tianshu(ST25),Daheng(SP15),Quchi(LI11)and Zhigou(TE6)were taken as main acupoints,plus Neiguan(PC6)and Zusanli(ST36)acupoint in the case of syndrome of phlegm-damp and impotency;plus Hegu(LI4)acupoint in the case of syndrome of heat of stomach and intestine;plus Qimen(LR14)and Taichong(LR3)in the case of syndrome of liver depression and qi stagnation;plus Qihai(CV6),Pishu(BL20),Shenshu(BL23)and Zusanli(ST36)in the case of syndrome of deficiency of yang in spleen and kidney.Both the experimental group and control group selected the same matching acupoints using the method of local acupoint matching.After a routine disinfection,filiform needle that is 40-75mm long and 0.30mm in diameter had been chosen for acupuncture,which was connected with the electric acupuncture apparatus and tuned to the dilatational wave.10 times of acupuncture is considered as one course of treatment,the patients were treated for two courses of treatment in total,the patients were treated every day in a continuous way in the first course of treatment,while in the second course of treatment they were treated every other day.The difference in effective rate and the change in weight,body mass index(BMI),degree of obesity and fat percentage before and after the treatment between the two groups had been observed and compared.ResultsThe experimental group had 1 patient clinically cured(3.45%),12 significantly improved(41.38%%),11 effectively improved(37.93%)and 5 not improved(17.24%),the total effective rate is 82.76%;the control group had 4 patient significantly improved(14.29%),13 effectively improved(46.43%)and 11 not improved(39.28%),the total effective rate is 60.72%.Compared with the control group,the clinical curative effect of experimental group was statistically significant(P<0.01).The differences in each index before and after the treatment in two groups were all statistically significant(P<0.01),compared with the control group,the difference between the pre-treatment and post-treatment value of fat percentage was statistically significant(P<0.01).ConclusionThe curative effect of treatment on simple obesity through selecting acupoint along the channel guided by meridian detection is better than that of traditional treatment based on syndrome differentiation,and meanwhile,the former can significantly reduce the skin-fold thickness and improve the body fat distribution,which is estimated to be possibly associated with the fact that "the detection and dredging of diseased meridians,improvement of local obstruction along the way of circulation and promotion of the local fat metabolism and selecting acupoint along the channel can improve the function of meridian,treat the lesion of the meridian system and realize an etiological treatment".Using the TCM meridian detector to detect the diseased meridian,providing objective indexes,quantifying the data about the meridians prevailed by deficiency or excess and selecting the acupoint along channel which is disease-oriented and started with the diseased meridian provide a new clinical therapeutic method for the treatment on diseases that are complicated in etiology and pathogenesis.
