Objective:To evaluate the correlation between the functional and anatomical assessments with multifocal electroretinography(mfERG),Visual Acuity(VA)andcentral subretinal fluid(SRF)thickness in central serous chorioretinopathy(CSC)patients.Method: Forty-five eyes of 45 CSC patients underwent and examinations,parameters measured included the best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA)(expression of Logarithm of Mininal Angle Resolution,logMAR),total macular central foveal thickness(CFT)and central subretinal fluid(SRF)thickness.All patients received examination using Germany RETIScan multifocal visual electrophysiology examination system and detected values of the first-order kernel were selected.40 eyes were selected from the control group for the same examination with the experimental group and experimental data was recorded.Data of two groups was analyzed and compared.Result:Themean BCVA of the experimental group was(0.46±0.17)LogMAR.The mean CFT ofthe control group was 222.3±9.17micrometers(μm)ranging from 205 to 241μm,and the experimental group was484.36±105.34μmranging from 289to682μm.The mean SRF of the experimental group was 328.09±108.18μmranging from96 to 532μm.The total CFT of the experimental group showed significant differences from the control group(t=16.547,P<0.05).In the experimental group,mfERG P1 andN1 amplitudes of 1 ring,P1 amplitude density of 1 and 2 rings,N1 amplitude density of 1 ring decreased significantly compared with the control group(P<0.05),while P1 latencies of 1 and 2 rings extended obviously compared with the control group(P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that logMAR BCVA was significant positively correlated with CFT,SRF and mfERG P1 latency of 1 ring;but it showed significant negative correlation with N1 amplitude of 1 ring and N1 amplitude density of 1 ring.CFTand SRF were positively correlated with mfERG N1 and P1 latencies of 1 ring.Result:Total CFT of CSC patients was significantly different from the normal.CFTand SRF were closely related to macular functional changes.The mfERG result of CSC patients was obviously different from the normal’s and was certainly related to CFTand SRF.Clinically,the retinal form and function of CSC patients were evaluated more objectively and accurately combined with VA and optical coherence tomography(OCT)and mfERG,which was conducive to clinical diagnosis,treatment and follow-up visit of CSC.
