| Objective:This research intends to studied the treatment of ophthalmoplegia acute effect of acupuncture(1 hour before and after acupuncture)by using infrared eye tracker.It will also discuss the relationship of acupuncture on acute and long effect(2-5 days or longer time interval before and after the comparison of the data,which will illustrate an accumulative effect in this period).The research will also give an objective evaluation on the efficacy of acupuncture treatment of ocular paralysis.It will provide a theoretical basis for the treatment of ophthalmoplegia and also explore the related mechanism of acupuncture treatment of ophthalmoplegia.The method of taking medicine:1.Twenty patients with ophthalmoplegia were enrolled in this study.These patients' eye movement data(before and after acupuncture treatment)will be recorded.Comparative analysis of these data and observation of the acupuncture acute effect will be adopted.Among 20 Patients,only 6 patients meet the standard of inclusion criteria test evaluation.The relationship between acute acupuncture effect and long-term effect was observed by linear regression.The correlation between acute acupuncture effects and long-term acupuncture effects will also be observed.2.Treatment: Traditional acupuncture treatment will be used.Different acupuncture points will be selected according to the patient's diseased eye muscles.However,same main points will be used for same ophthalmoplegia patients.Eye movements data will be collected before acupuncture and after acupuncture immediately.Infrared eye tracker will be used to measure ophthalmoplegia patients' eye movements.The measurement time will be decided based on the patients' successful eye movements.The successful eye movements should be 120.(Eye tracker can induce eye movements;the rehabilitation effect of eye movement is not clear.Therefore,the number can avoid the interference of the recovery of the eye movement and can also have a better analysis on the change of eye movement data).If patients have other complications or concomitant disease such as hypertension,hyperlipidemia,hypothyroidism,hyperthyrea,they should take proper treatment so that their function can be improved.3.Using infrared eye tracker to collect eye movement function data.Single binocular saccadic movement amplitude difference,peak velocity difference and the time difference will be the basic parameter.The peak amplitude difference,velocity difference and amplitude difference can be divided into horizontal and vertical(X)(Y).Thus,each subject single direction will have(1)X component amplitude difference,(2)Y component amplitude difference(3)X component peak velocity difference,(4)Y component peak velocity difference(5)peak velocity and time difference of five evaluation parameters.Each direction of 20-30 scan data will be selected as observat on index.Results:1.Acute effect of acupuncture: 6 patients provide 60 groups' data of acute acupuncture.By analyzing these data,it is found that 3 groups have a significant changes before and after acupuncture in five eye movement indicators.2 groups have no significant changes.3 among 48 groups have at least 3 data changed significantly.There are 7 groups only have 1-2 data changes.2.Correlation between acute and long-term effect:Correlation between acute and long-term acupuncture data of 16 groups.It was found that half of acute data has a positive correlation between the long-term data.3.Comparing the 60 groups of acute acupuncture data with the long-term acupuncture data of 16 groups,it was found that half of acute data has a positive correlation between the long-term data.Conclusions:The infrared eye tracker is used to do research on acupuncture treatment of the acute effect of ophthalmoplegia.It found that patients with acupuncture treatment to ophthalmoplegia,their oculomotor function changed significantly.There is a positive relation between the acute effect of acupuncture treatment and long-term effect. |
