Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of shallow needling for primary insomnia,analysis the mechanism of its curative effect,to provide theoretical basis for the clinic al application of shallow needle.Methods The 60 patients with primary insomnia were randomly divided into the exp erimental group and control group,30 cases in each group.The experimental group w as used shallow needling treatment,once per day,30 minutes every time,while in t he control group estazolam 1 mg was prescribed orally 30 minutes before going to sl eep,once every night.The treatment proceeded for 20 days.Before and after treatmen t,Pittsburgh sleep quality index Scale(PSQI)and Epworth Sleepiness Scale(ESS)wer e used to evaluate the sleep quality and clinical efficacy of the two groups,and Ence phalofluctuograph(EFG)was used to assess the variation of brain neurotransmitter.Result 1?The total effective rate was 78.5%in the experimental group,and 74.0%in the control group,the two groups had the equivalent effects(P>0.05).Clinical c ure rate in experimental group was slightly higher than the control group.2?The score of the PSQI in the experimental groups were significantly reduced after treatment,wit h statistical significance(P<0.05);the comparison of PSQI evaluation between two g roups after treatment,the experimental group was slightly higher than the control grou p,with no statistical significance(P>0.05);seven sub projects of PSQI in the exper imental group compared with the control group,respectively,at the end of treatment.The score of sleep time and sleep medication were higher than the control group,wi th statistical significance(P<0.05),the score of sleep disorder,sleep quality,sleep t ime,sleep efficiency and daytime dysfunction,the results there were no significant di fference(P>0.05),compared with control group respectively;the score of PSQI were slightly increased in both groups one month after the therapy,with no statistical si gnificance(P>0.05).3?Compared with before treatment,ESS score of the two group s were lower than the original number,with statistical significance(P<0.05);the sco re of experimental group was slightly higher than the control group at the end of the treatment,but there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).4?After treat ment,the relative power of GABA?5-HT?Ach and DA of patients in two groups were both increased than that of before(P<0.05),5-HT?Ach in the control group,GABA?Ach in the experimental group showed statistical significance after treatment(P<0.05);GABA and 5-HT were higher in the experimental group than that in.the con trol group,with statistical significance(P<0.05);NE and Glu of patients in two gro ups were both decreased after treatment,Glu?NE in the control group and-NE in the experimental group were had significant differences compared with before treatment(P<0.05),but similar result in two groups after treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion 1?Shallow needling treatment has better clinical efficacy for primary ins omnia,not worse than estazolam.2?Shallow needling stimulation at "zhenjing" and "sh angen" acupoint can improve the relative power of the GABA and 5-HT in the brain.
