objective: Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of LOX protein and HIF-1? protein in rectal cancer. The clinical pathological data of patients with rectal cancer were collected and followed up.To investigate the relationship between the two with clinical pathological factors and its correlation with prognosis.Method:1.60 patients with rectal cancer underwent radical resection in the Department of gastrointestinal surgery,Southwest Hospital of from January 1,2012 to June 30,2013 were selected as experimental group.20 cases of normal rectal tissues were selected as control group.2.The expression of LOX protein and HIF-1? protein were detected by immunohistochemistry.3.The clinical and pathological data of the 60 patients were collected, including the gender, age, tumor type, tumor size, differentiation,T stage, number of lymph node metastasis, preoperative CEA,vascular invasion and other clinical pathological parameters. The patients were followed up.4.Using statistical software to analysis of the relationship between the expression of LOX protein and HIF-1? protein and clinicopathological parameters in patients with rectal cancer.5.Using statistical software to analysis of the relationship between the expression of LOX protein and HIF-1? protein and prognosis in patients with rectal cancer.Result:1.Compared with normal tissues,LOX protein and HIF-1?protein were highly expressed in rectal cancer(p<0.05).2.In rectal cancer, the expression of LOX protein and HIF-1?protein were correlated(r=0.408,p=0.001).3.In rectal cancer, the expression of LOX protein and HIF-1?protein was correlated with T stage and lymph node metastasis(p<0.05).4.The positive expression of LOX protein and HIF-1? protein in rectal cancer was related to the metastasis of rectal cancer(p<0.05),which was not associated with local recurrence of rectal cancer(p > 0.05).5.Survival analysis showed that the LOX protein and HIF-1?protein positive expression group had shorter disease free survival time, and there was significant difference between the negative expression group(p<0.05).6.Survival analysis showed that there was no significant difference in the overall survival of LOX protein and HIF-1? protein positive expression group compared with negative expression group(p>0.05).7.Single factor analysis found that tumor type, differentiation degree,T stage,N stage, vascular invasion, postoperative treatment,LOX protein and HIF-1? protein positive expression affect the prognosis of patients with rectal cancer.Multiariable analysis found that differentiation degree,T stage,N stage is independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of patients with rectal cancer, but expression of LOX and HIF-1? protein were not found to be an independent risk factor for the prognosis of patients with rectal cancer(p > 0.05).Conclusions: 1.High expression of LOX protein and HIF-1? protein in rectal cancer.2.The expression of LOX protein and HIF-1? protein in rectal cancer tissues were positively correlated.3.The expression of LOX protein and HIF-1? protein is related to the development, invasion and metastasis of rectal cancer.4.High expression of LOX protein and HIF-1? protein may be associated with poor prognosis.
