Objective: To investigate the expression of RNPC1 and p53 in lung adenocarcinoma and its relationship with the clinical features of lung adenocarcinoma. Methods: To detect the mRNA and protein of RNPC1 and p53 gene in lung adenocarcinoma tissues and its corresponding adjacent non-carcinomatous tissues by RT-PCR and Western blotting, and analyze the relationship between clinical pathological features. Results: the relative expression of RNPC1 mRNA and protein in lung adenocarcinoma(0.357 ± 0.170,0.294 ± 0.149)were higher than the adjacent tissues(0.271 ± 0.128,0.206 ± 0.099),lung adenocarcinoma tissue p53 protein and mRNA(0.457 ± 0.208,0.671 ± 0.200)relative expression levels were higher than the adjacent tissues(0.308 ± 0.167,0.332 ± 0.071),the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).The expression of RNPC1 was correlated with TNM stage and depth of invasion of lung adenocarcinoma(P < 0.05).The expression of p53 was correlated with TNM stage(P < 0.05).The expression of RNPC1 in experimental group was correlated with p53(r =-0.626,P < 0.01).Conclusion: the expression of RNPC1 and p53 gene in lung adenocarcinoma tissues were higher than those in adjacent tissues, and the relationship between the expression of mRNA and protein in these tissues was closely related to the pathological parameters. With the increase of RNPC1 gene expression and the decrease of p53 protein,RNPC1 may promote the occurrence and development of lung cancer by inhibiting the translation of p53.RNPC1 may be a target for molecular targeted therapy of lung adenocarcinoma.
