Objectives:The relationship between CYP19A1 genetic polymorphisms and Cor onary artery disease(CAD)remains unclear. The aim of this study was to investigat e the association of CYP19A1 genetic polymorphisms with CAD in Han and Uygu r populations and investigated the association between levels of sex hormones and Aromatase with single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)in CYP19A1 genes in Chi nese women.Methods:1064 Han people(614men,450women)and 790 Uygurpeople(484men,306women)among them 498 postmenopausal women(265han people,233 Uy gur people)were selected.Four SNPs(rs2236722,rs2304463,rs4646,rs4275794)were ge notyped using an(iMLDR)technique. The estradiol and testosterone by GC-2016?with radioimmunoassay counter employed. Finally,ELISA was run for P450 aromata se levels in serum. Results: In the Uygur population,rs2236722 and rs4646 were f ound to be associated with CAD(P?0.03,P?0.001)dominant model(CCvsCA+AA),and additive model(CAvs.CC+AA).The rs4646 was significant associated with diff erences in sex hormone levels and Aromatase levels(P?0.001)after the multivariat e adjustment also associated differences. In Uygur normal postmenopausal women w as significant difference in genotype distributions of rs4646 between circulating hor mone and aromatase levels in CAD patients and control subjects. For estradiol and aromatase the difference remained statistically significant after multivariate adjustme nt(OR=0.777,95%CI:0.717-0.842,P=0.000,OR=0.953,95%CI:0.944-0.963,P=0.000)and i nteractions between rs4646 and aromatase level(P=0.026).Conclusions: Theresults of this study indicate that the rs2236722 and rs4646 of CYP19A1 gene areassociated with CAD and circulating sex hormone Levels in Xinjiang population of China.
