Factors Associated With Tuberculosis In Elderly Population In Urumqi: Case Control Study

Objective: Study the comparison of the tuberculosis and health factors related to the characteristics between the elderly with tuberculosis and the elderly without,and the analysis of its root cause and influence factors of tuberculosis in the elderly,in order to offer theoretical reference to how to effectively decrease the frequencies of Tuberculosis infecting in Urumqi.Methods: The study is based on the way of case-control design method.In the research field,selecting the target groups,which has been diagnosed with tuberculosis,are not less than the age of 60,and willing to participate in this survey as a study group.Within the same as the case group living area with gender,age(±5 years of age),nation are the same,by 1:2 match selecting the control group;Gathering the relevant information of all the research objects,carries on the questionnaire survey(general situation,health,nutrition,health literacy,information and the measurement of quality of life).After data sorting,using chi-square,single factor and multiple factors nonconditional logistic regression method to analyze it.Results: 1.The general situation: Investigating 612 case-controls in total(including 204 cases and 408 controls),107 men(52.45 %)and 97 women(47.55%)in cases,214 men(52.45 %)and 194 women(47.55%)in controls;The age of 612 cases of study objects is between 60 to 89,and the average age is 71.51±6.973;Most of the respondents are the Han people,accounting for 143(70.10%)in cases and 286(70.10%)in controls.2.Univariate logistic regression analysis: Case and control groups in education,personal incomes,fuel of kitchen,drinking water,sports,tuberculosis exposure history,history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,tuberculosis,history and history of chronic bronchitis has significant differences(P<0.05);3.Multivariate logistic regression analysis: ethnicity,educational level,retired former professional,live alone or not,personal income,kitchen ventilation equipment,kitchen fuel,physical training,tuberculosis exposure history,history of tuberculosis are associated with the pathogenesis of Tuberculosis.Conclusion: The ethnicity,culture level,occupation,live alone or not,personal income,physical exercise and tuberculosis exposure history,tuberculosis history,family kitchen exhaust equipment,fuel are the influence factors of Tuberculosis,suggesting that according to tuberculosis influence factors of the the elderly,corresponding measures and strategies should be taken to reduce the morbidity rate of the elderly tuberculosis.
