OBJECTIVES:To explore the high risk factors of college tuberculosis in Changsha, thus providing references for controlling tuberculosis in college.METHODS:Analyzing the data collected by face-to-face questionnaire about general information and epidemiological information by case-control study method which case group is consisted of116college students infected tuberculosis confirmed by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) during2010to2011and control group is consisted of232non-tuberculosis college students from the same colleges. The database was set up by Epidata3.0software, and single factor analysis and multivariate logistic regression were carried out by SPSS13.0software.RESULTS:Factors concerned with college student tuberculosis displayed by single factor analysis show that:gender, nationality, BCG vaccinated history, BMI, tuberculosis patient exposure, frequency of participate in collective activities, with basic diseases, living expenses. While some of the others have no significant differences such as age, BCG scar, campus dormitory or not, tuberculosis specialist hospital nearby, stay up late or not, be in crowd gathering place frequently, shock events, spirit stress, smoking, drug allergy history, etc. And it still unconfirmed that whether tuberculosis family history is risk factor or not.Multivariate logistic regression shows that:some of the concerned factors are risk factors which may increase the risk of tuberculosis, such as male(OR=2.251,95%CI:1.246-4.065), no BCG vaccinated history(OR=2.374,95%CI:1.177-4.788), low weight(OR=2.969,95%CI:1.582-5.569), history of contacting TB patients(OR=37.229,95%CI:3.899-355.444), low frequency of participate in collective activities(OR=4.046,95%CI:2.476-6.612), reduction of living expenses(OR=1.643,95%CI:1.049-2.575).CONCLUSIONS:Some factors, such as male, no BCG vaccinated history, low weight, history of contacting TB patients, low frequency of participate in collective activities, reduction of living expenses, will increase the risk of college student to get tuberculosis. The more lower frequency of participate in collective activities, the more lower of living expenses, the higher the risk of getting TB.
