Objective: This study aims at describing the status and influence factors of the family hardiness with leukemia children, and exploring the feasibility of improving the family hardiness with leukemia children,as well as the self-efficacy,coping style and social support of the mother via empowerment education.Furthermore,it also can be used to evaluate the effect of empowerment education on the family hardiness with leukemia children,so as to provide the corresponding support for improving the family hardiness with leukemia children. Methods: As a clinical pilot research, this study studied the 87 leukemia children and their mother, who were volunteered for this study and hospitalized in Pediatric Hematology and Pediatric Oncology of the first hospital of Jilin university during November 2015 to September 2016.For the all subjects, they were divided into two groups randomly, that is,the control group(n=43)with routine education, and the intervention group(n=44)with empowerment education and routine education simultaneously. Before intervention(which defined as T1),the general information questionnaire was used to collect the disease data and demographics data of the leukemia children and mothers'.Afterwards, the Family Hardiness Index(FHI),General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES),Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ)and Social support rating scale(SSRS),were all used to evaluate all participants during the different stage, before the intervention(T1),intervention after 1 month(T2)and intervention after 3 month(T3),so as to analyze the influence factors of the family hardiness with leukemia children and the intervention effect of empowerment education.Results:1.The baseline results showed that the total score of family hardiness with leukemia children is(60.15±6.40).2.According to the influential factors analysis of family hardiness with leukemia children, the result showed that,(1)from the single factor analysis of variance,it can be seen that, the educational level of the mother, family income per month, residence and the payment mode of medical expenses have different influences on the score of family hardiness with leukemia children, and this deference was significant(P<0.05);(2)from the Pearson correlation analysis,it can be seen that,no matter the each dimension score or the total score of family hardiness with leukemia children, was significantly and positively correlated with the general self-efficacy,positive coping scores, social support(P<0.001),however,there was no significant between the scores and negative coping(P>0.05).3.The effectiveness analysis of empowerment education:(1)From the repeated measures analysis of variance,it can be seen that, the main intervention effect and main time effect on each dimension score or the total score of family hardiness with leukemia children was significant(P<0.05);the interaction between each dimension score and the total score was significant(P<0.01),and the interaction diagram indicated that, compared to the control group, the growth degree of each dimension score or the total score of family hardiness with leukemia children in the intervention group was larger over time.(2)From the repeated measures analysis of variance,it can be seen that, the main intervention effect and main time effect on general self-efficacy scores was significant(P<0.05);there was significant interaction between time and intervention(P<0.01),and it can be seen from the interaction diagram, the growth degree of general self-efficacy scores was larger in intervention group than that of control group over time after intervention.(3)From the repeated measures analysis of variance,it can be seen that, the main intervention effect and main time effect on positive coping scores was significant(P<0.05);there was significant interaction between time and intervention(P<0.01),and it can be seen from the interaction diagram, the growth degree of positive coping scores was larger in intervention group than that of control group over time after intervention. Moreover, the main intervention effect and main time effect on negative coping scores was no significant(P>0.05);there was no significant interaction between time and intervention(P>0.05),and interaction diagram indicated that the negative coping scores showed decreasing trend in intervention group and control group.(4)From the repeated measures analysis of variance,it can be seen that, the main intervention effect and main time effect on social support scores was significant(P<0.05);there was significant interaction between time and intervention(P<0.01),and it can be seen from the interaction diagram that, the increase degree of social support scores was larger in intervention group than that of control group over time after intervention, while the changes of social support scores in control group was not obvious. Conclusion: 1.For the family with leukemia children, their family hardiness need to be improved;2.For the family with leukemia children, their family hardiness is positively correlated with the mother's general self-efficacy,positive coping, and social support correlation;3.For the family with leukemia children, through empowerment education,it will enhance their family hardiness, improve mother's general self-efficacy,make them more inclined to take positive coping style, and increase their social support.
