Objective:Primary insomnia is the most common sleep disorder. However, there is very little specifically investigation about the primary insomnia. This research try to explore the main pathogenesis, the syndrome elements(SE)and the distribution rules of SE of primary insomnia,by discussing the main syndrome elements of it.Method:The epidemiological investigation of 100 patients with primary insomnia was collected in Encephalopathy center of Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM.The Excel table was established, the symptoms and tongue veins of all the patients were analyzed by exploratory factor analysis. Then we summarized the SE and it's combination rules of primary insomnia. The chi-square test was used to explore the relationship between the SE and gender, age, the course of the disease. Results:The average age of 100 patients we collected is(45.66±15.16),the age between 18 and 45 accounted for 51%,the age between 45 and 60 accounted for 31%,the age between 60 and 79 accounted for 18%.Males accounted for 28%,females accounted for 72%.The sex ratio is 1:2.57.The course of disease is frome 1 month to 37years.The average course of disease is(62.98±71.10)months.Based on the results of Exploratory factor analysis(EFA),we conclude that the location of the syndrome elements of this desease are as follows:Heart, liver, bravery, lienal, stomach and kidney. And the nature of the syndrome elements of this desease are as follows:Hot,and qi stagnation,qi deficiency and phlegm turbidity, and qi stagnation, yin deficiency, blood deficiency. The distribution and combination rules of the syndrome elements of primary insomnia are as follws:(1)The frequency from high to low arrangement of the nature of the desease are as follows:Hot>qi deficiency>qi stagnation>phlegm turbidity>blood deficiency>yin deficiency.(2)The combination rule is as follows, two elements combination is at most(59%).Followed by three elements combination(26%)and single element(15%).respectively,there is no combination of more than fourcombination. When it comes to single element,qi deficiency and hot see multiple(<10%);Two elements combination in 8 types, common combination(? 10%)is liver fire certificate?phlegm heat disturbing?glove two deficiency syndrome and yin fire certificate(? 10%);Three elements combination in 3 types, common combination(>10%)is phlegm heat inside, heart restless.(3)Primary insomnia relate with age and gender:regardless of age and gender, hot is the most common.men see more phlegm turbidity(P<0.01),female common congealing qi deficiency(P<0.05).In terms of age, each disease syndrome factor and each age group(P>0.05),no obvious statistical significance.(4)Primary insomnia relate with the course of the disease:Subacute insomnia group 19,the mainly syndrome element is qi deficiency.Chronic insomnia 81,the mainly syndrome element is hot.Conclusion:(1)Primary insomnia involves the main disease card is:heart, liver, gallbladder, spleen, stomach, kidney. The main disease card is:hot, and qi stagnation,qi deficiency and phlegm turbidity, and qi stagnation, yin deficiency, blood deficiency.(2)Hot is the main nature of the SE of primary insomnia,no matter the age and the gender.(3)There is gender difference in the nature of the SE of primary insomnia. The most common type in male is phlegm turbidity, and the most common type in female is qi deficiency.(4)There are different combination types of the SE of primary insomnia,of which the most common type is two SE combined together.(5)Primary insomnia in the onset age,in which the majority are young people, the disease resistance syndrome factor among all age groups is hot.(6)Primary fatal familial insomnia syndrome factor associated with the course of the disease,sub-acute insomnia group with qi deficiency, chronic insomnia group with hot.
