| Objective:To provide clinical reference of TCM in treating rheumatoid arthritis(RA)with Sjogren's syndrome(SS)by exploring and analyzing characteristics of distribution in TCM syndromes of rheumatoid arthritis with Sjogren's syndrome.Methods:The study which includes 89 patients with both rheumatoid arthritis and Sjogren's syndrome collected patients' information and established databases of demographic data,four diagnostic data and laboratory data.Taking relevant factors,symptoms,signs and supplementary examinations into account,the study concluded the characteristics of TCM syndrome distribution with statistical method,in the hope to guide the clinical therapy of traditional Chinese medicine.Results:The study covered 89 patients with RA-SS,in which 10 male patients and 79 female patients is included.The onset of RA is mainly between 18-44 years of age,while SS is between 45-59.Most patients have SS later than RA or get two diseases at the same time;Patients with RA-SS often get multiple organs involved in the disease.The location syndrome elements mainly distribute in kidney,liver and their combination.The distribution of pathogenesis factor is mainly in damp,Yin deficiency,blood stasis.It can be found that symptoms such as dryness in eyes and mouth,fatigue and laboratory data such as WBC,Hb,ESR,C3 and Anti-CCP antibodies have correlation with various distribution of pathogenesis factor:Dryness in eyes and mouth have certain correlation with Yin deficiency;Elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate,anemia is associated with blood deficiency;Complement C3 is related to factor wind and cold;Anti-CCP antibody is associated with heat.Conclusion:RA-SS mainly occur in women,with a longer duration.The disease often involve multiple organs,liver and kidney deficiency is mostly seen in the disease;Patients often get a complex combination of excess and deficiency pathogen,such as the combination of phlegm and blood stasis,Yin deficiency and dampness. |
