Objective:To objectively evaluate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with acupoint application on the treatment of myofascial pain syndrome from the aspect of clinical observation, and to provide an effective method for clinical treatment of the disease and to provide the necessary basis for seeking better application.Methods:60 cases who met the inclusive criteria were selected in this study and were randomly divided in to the treatment group and control group, each group had 30 cases, acupuncture combined with acupoint application were given in the treatment group and acupuncture was given in the control group(selection of acupoints were based on general higher education "12th Five-Year" national planning textbook,"acupuncturology",which is edited by Shi Xuemin and published by China Traditional Medicine Press, and "Jin San Zhen clinical acupoints" edited by Chai Tiequ). The treatment was given every 2 day, three times a week, for two courses with 6 treatments in one course.McGill pain questionnaire(pain rating index assessment(PRI),visual analogue scale(VAS)and the current pain intensity assessment(PPI))were used for observing the clinical efficacy, and the data were analyzed by statistical software SPSS 22.0.Results:1.Baseline characteristics evaluation:after the chi square test and t test, there was no significant difference in the baseline characteristics(gender, age, course of disease, type of syndrome differentiation)between the two groups before treatment, which was comparable(P>0.05).2.A total of 30 cases in the treatment group,3 cases were cured,18 cases were markedly effective,6 cases were effective,3 case was invalid, the total effective rate was 90.00%.A total of 30 cases in the control group,1 case was cured,10 cases were markedly effective,14 cases were effective,5 cases were invalid, the total effective rate was 83.33%.The rank sum test(P<0.05),indicated that the two groups were statistically significant. Results showed that under the same course of treatment, the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with acupoint application on the treatment of myofascial pain syndrome was better than that of the conventional acupuncture group.3.There was no significant difference in McGill scores before treatment in both groups(P>0.05),the difference was not statistically significant, which was comparable between the groups. There were statistically significant difference before and after treatment in the experiment group(P<0.05)and the control group(P<0.05),which suggested that both groups could improve the back pain.which suggested that the clinical efficacy of the treatment group in improving back pain was better than that of the control group. Conclusion:Acupuncture combined with acupoint application and acupuncture can all improve the back pain, and the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with acupoint application was better, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
