Objectives To observe the application of cervix balloon catheter in term twin gestational women and explore the efficacy and safety of the cervix double balloon for labor induction in term twin pregnancy women by comparing with single pregnancy woman. Methods Collect all twin pregnancy women between January 2009 and November 2015 in our hospital.64 cases conform to the standard according to the exclusion criteria.64 term primipara in twin pregnancies undergoing labor induction with cervix double balloon catheter were analyzed as the observation group.64 term primipara with a singleton pregnancy undergoing labor induction in the same method over the same time period were randomly selected as the control group.Observe delivery outcomes, adverse reactions both groups, compare the effectiveness and security.A Logistic regression model was performed to assess the factors which were independently associated with cesarean section in cases of labor induction.Results(1)There was no statistically significant difference between these two groups in cervcal ripening, the induced labor time, rate of vaginal delivery, indication of cesarean section(P>0.05).(2)There was also no statistically significant difference between these two groups in intrapartum and postpartum hemorrhage,infection.(3)The neonatal birth weigh of twin pregnancy women group was lighter than the single pregnancy woman group(P<0.05).But there was no statistically significant difference between these two groups in incidence of fetal distress and neonatal asphyxia(P>0.05).(4)The Logistic regression indicated twin pregnancies were not an independent risk factor for cesarean section.Conclusions(1)Cervix double balloon catheter can be used for induced labor in twin pregnancy women. It was as effective as singleton pregnancy without increasing the adverse outcomes, which is worthy of further clinical promotion.(2)twin pregnancies were not an independent risk factor for cesarean section, which were allowed vaginal labour after induced labor.
