Objectives:To study the hospitalized patients with cervical cancer who underwent concurrent chemoradiotherapy. And to investigate the cancer-related fatigue status of patients during hospitalization.Through the method of acupoint moxibustion, the fatigue status of patients were observed at the time of synchronization therapy. And to explore the effect of acupoint moxibustion on cancer-related fatigue and related factors in patients with cervical cancer. Methods:A total of 12 patients with cervical cancer were enrolled in this study at the Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center Minhang Branch.Colaizzi analysis method was used to collect and analyze data.Though the method of randomized controlled trial, eighty patients diagnosed as cervical cancer were randomly divided into moxibustion group and fake moxibustion group, respectively. With 40 patients in each group. For moxibustion group,Baixiao moxibustion was lit in the preselected points. For fake moxibustion group,we lit the paper on the bottom of the Baixiao moxibustion.Patients in the two groups were all received conventional chemotherapy and radiotherapy.Acupuncture points moxibustion was conducted from the first day of patients given radiotherapy.Moxibustion points include Guan Yuan,Qi Hai,Zusanli(bilateral)and Sanyinjiao(bilateral).Twenty minutes a day until three days after the end of the treatment. The patients were assessed 1 day before radiotherapy(prior to intervention),15 days of radiotherapy(mid-intervention),and 3 days after the end of the entire treatment(last intervention).SAS,SDS,PSQI,CFS were used to evaluate patients before and after intervention. The data were collected using Epidata3.0 and were analyzed using SPSS20.0.Results:1.Qualitative research results:Seven topics were obtained with analysis:cancer-related fatigue is common and multi-dimensions in those who with cervical cancer after concurrent chemoradiotherapy,cancer-related fatigue has accompanied symptoms,cancer-related fatigue affects patients' psychology,cancer-related fatigue affects sleep in patients, patients have misunderstanding on fatigue symptoms, patients need social support, patients have the demand of easing the cancer-related fatigue.2.Clinical study results:(1)CFS:For moxibustion group, there was no significant difference between the time of mid-intervention and prior to intervention(P>0.05),but there was significant difference between the last intervention and prior to intervention(P<0.01).In the fake moxibustion group, the time of mid-intervention and last intervention CFS scores were both higher than the time of prior to intervention(P<0.05 or P<0.01).There was no significant difference in CFS between the two groups before and after the intervention(P>0.05).Between the two groups, the CFS of the moxibustion group was significantly lower than that of the fake moxibustion group(P<0.01).(2)Physical dimension, emotional dimension and cognitive dimension of CFS:In moxibustion group, there was no significant difference between the time of mid-intervention and prior to intervention(P>0.05),but there was significant difference between the last intervention and prior to intervention(P<0.01).In the fake moxibustion group, the scores of physical dimension, emotional dimension and cognitive dimension at the time of mid and last intervention were higher than those before intervention(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Comparison of the two group showed that the physical fatigue score, the emotional fatigue score and the cognitive fatigue score were significantly lower in the moxibustion group than in the moxibustion group(P<0.05).(3)SAS:SAS scores in the moxibustion group at the time of mid and last intervention were no significant difference(P>0.05).SAS scores in the fake moxibustion group at the time of mid and last intervention were significantly higher than the time before intervention(P<0.01).The comparison between the groups showed that SAS was significantly lower in the moxibustion group than in the moxibustion group at the time of mid and last intervention(P<0.05orP<0.01).(4)SDS:SDS scores in the moxibustion group at the time of last intervention was significantly lower than the time before intervention(P<0.05).SDS scores in the fake moxibustion group at the time of mid and last intervention were significantly higher than the time before intervention(P<0.05orP<0.01).The comparison between the two groups showed that the levels of SDS in the moxibustion group were significantly lower than those in the moxibustion group at the time of mid and last intervention(P<0.01).(5)PSQI:PSQI scores in the moxibustion group at the time of mid and last intervention were significantly lower than the time before intervention(P<0.01).Meanwhile,in the fake moxibustion group, there was no difference between the intervention group on the levels of PSQI(P>0.05).The comparison between the groups showed that PSQI was significantly lower in the moxibustion group than in the moxibustion group at the time of mid and last intervention(P<0.05orP<0.01).Conclusions:The use of traditional Chinese medicine theory combined with appropriate Chinese medicine technology can effectively reduce cancer-related fatigue on cervical cancer patients with concurrent chemoradiotherapy and improve the quality of sleep, ease the anxiety and fatigue symptoms.
