Objectives1.To observe and research the effect of MS by antipsychotics durgs with Linggui zhugan decoction.2.To explore the safety of Chinese medicine in the treatment of MS induced by antipsychotics.Methods1.The 60 patients corresponding with the diagnostic criteria were randomly divided into the observation group of 30 patients and control group of 30 patients.The control group was treated only with antipsychotic treatment,but the observation group take an interventions based on antipsychotic treatment with Linggui Zhugan decoction.2.After the treatment,fasting blood glucose,body mass index,fasting insulin,fasting plasma C peptide,blood pressure and blood lipid were measured.Compared the value of before the treatment and after the treatment in the two groups.Then these values were compared between the two groups.BackgroundMetabolic syndrome is a complex syndrome of metabolic disorders.It is leading totype 2 diabetes,malignancies and cardiovascular disease and other chronic diseases riskfactors.Studies have shown that antipsychotic drugs can induce MS or accelerate thedevelopment of MS.However,the current clinical treatment of drug-induced MS is notgood,so this experiment was observed clinical curative effect of antipsychoticdrug-induced MS by Chinese medicine.3.Statistical analysis: The SPSS15.0 statistical software was used for data analysis,and the count data were presented as(?x±s).Data were compared by using repeated measures of variance analysis in groups,and data were compared by using t test between groups.Results1.General information comparisonThere were no significant differences in sex,age,blood pressure,BMI and waist circumference between the two groups before the experiment,P> 0.05.2.The comparison of blood lipid between two groups before and after treatmentAfter treatment by Linggui Zhugan decoction,the blood lipid levels of observation group were changed.The TG of observation group were(2.41±0.88)mmol/L,but TG decreased to(2.17±0.64)mmol / L after two weeks of treatment and to(1.51±0.37)mmol / L after four weeks of treatment.The levels of HDL-C were increased compared with pre-treatment,P< 0.05.3.The blood pressure of the two groups before and after treatment were comparedThe blood pressure of the two groups were changed after treatment.The blood pressure of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,P< 0.05.4.After treatment by Linggui Zhugan decoction,the waist circumference decreased in the observation group,and BMI of observation group was decreased compared with pre-treatment,P< 0.05.But the waist circumference and BMI of the control group were increased compared with pre-treatment,P< 0.05.There was a significant difference between the two groups,P< 0.05.5.After treatment,the fasting blood glucose and insulin levels of the control group were increased compared with pre-treatment,P< 0.05.But The fasting blood glucose and insulin levels in the observation group were lower than those before treatment,P <0.05.6.The HOMA-IR of the two groups was respectively 6.08±2.30 in the control group and 5.35±1.44 in the observation group.There was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).But after treatment by Linggui Zhugan decoction,HOMA-IR was 8.48±2.42 in the control group at 4 weeks,significantly higher than that before tratment(P<0.05);HOMA-IR was 4.36±1.70 at 2 weeks and 2.33±1.31 at 4 weeks in the observation group(P<0.05).There was significant difference between the observation group and the control group(P<0.05).7.After treatment,the fasting C-peptide of the control group showed a tendency to increase,while the fasting C-peptide of the observation group decreased from(3.72±1.49)nmol / L to(2.08±0.60)nmol / L after four weeks of treatment.The C-peptide level of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions1.Antipsychotic drugs can induce MS or accelerate the process of MS.2.Lingguizhugan Decoction can improve or reverse the process of MS.
